As a quick way to do this reference, you could select the range of cells you would like to use, choose edit-copy. Open up the new workbook and choose edit-paste special and then choose to paste link. this will create the links to the entire range.

I have all the characters from one of the games I play in set up (or most of them) and there is one guy who is always losing his character (which is most amusing because we play at his house). It is great to be able to just hand then a stats sheet to play from.

I attempted to use HeroForge once and found that this sheet was much easier to use. Maybe it is my familiarity with excel, but I much prefer this sheet over any other one that I tried.
