Seeing Mak move into position, Dregs uses the opportunity to wallop the goblin chief upside his head.

  1. Round 2.5
  2. Mak Kroket <--- At Bat
  3. Dregs <--- At Bat
  4. Durmisht Rul <--- At Bat
Mak steps up to Ripnugget and throws a combo punch (or double slice with Kama?), but misses with his first as Rip sways from the blow. However, he gets caught by Maks follow-up square in the jaw. (Rip, 6 Damage)

Attack;Damage (Flanking) (1d20+6=13, 1d8+2=7)
Dregs finds that even after taking a shot in the jaw, the warchief is still quick enough on his feet to avaid his heavy mace.

Durmisht moves in with greatsword ready and swings heavily at the chief. Durmisht tears open a nasty gash in Rip's side. The chief is not looking well. (Rip, 15 Damage)
  1. Round 3
  2. Chief
  3. Artemis <--- At Bat
  4. Tarkiah Sklar <--- At Bat
  5. Violasha <--- At Bat
  6. Commandos <--- At Bat
Seemingly still under Vi's charms, The chief adjust to her position seeking help. Why they attack?! I no threat them. Please tell them stop. He holds his weapon in defense.

I don't know, chief. I'm not really in charge of them. Vi lies as she nonchalantly pulls a wand out of her pack.

But I think they're right. You've outlived your usefulness. Bad goblin! Time for a shock! she says as she tries to poke him with the electrical end of the wand.
OUT OF CHARACTER
Melee touch for shocking grasp (1d20=10, 1d6=6). Vi adds an action point (her last): Action Point (1d6=2). So the attack total is 12, or 15 if the chief is wearing metal armor.

If this is a miss, I think the wand remains electrically charged (see holding the charge under touch spells in combat here). At least this is how I have always interpreted it. So, maybe Vi threatens the chief and provides flanking for Durmisht?

Retrieving the wand would provoke an AoO, if the chief has decided that Vi is no longer a friend and doing something dangerous, so here's a bluff check to maybe avoid that: 1d20+10=28

Edit: Actually, I forgot to include flanking from Durmisht in Vi's touch attack, so her to hit should be 14, or 17 if the chief is wearing metal armor.

Kiah moves to N20, hoping someone will move to L22 to provide flanking. She holds an action in case someone moves there. Her held action is a rapier to the face for poor Ripnugget.

Rapier attack/damage (w/ sneak) (1d20+8=9, 3d6+2=17)

Unfortunately, she has trouble attacking around the corner and hopes someone will finish off the goblin chief quickly so they can loot his corpse.

This time, Dregs moves to L22 in order to assist Kiah's own attacks as well as his own.

Attack;Damage (Flanking) (1d20+6=14, 1d8+2=6)

He is also starting to feel rather sorry for the poor Goblin Chief.

The goblin is proving to be more difficult to kill as Dregs misses with his mace.
OUT OF CHARACTER
No Action from Durmisht

  1. Round 4
  2. Chief
  3. Artemis <--- At Bat
  4. Tarkiah Sklar <--- At Bat
  5. Violasha <--- At Bat
The chief draws his short sword in both hands and attacks Vi, but the effect of the spell seems to still have him flustered even though it no longer holds him. He misser her by not that much.

No Action by Artemis

Kiah misses horribly hitting the corner of the wall instead.

Vi tricks the goblin and manages to draw her wand without him noticing it. She tries to shock him, but she does not get a good connection and thus the wand does not discharge.

Tired of all this nonsense Durmisht Dregs and Mak each attack the goblin, inflicting some damage each to him, but he's still standing, and able enough to attack Vi again, hitting her for minor damage. Kiah then follows up with a lethal blow to the side of the neck, puncturing and artery. The goblin chief falls to the ground as blood spurts from the wound with each slowing beat of his heart.
  • Conditions/Effects:
    • Durmisht, 43/47
    • Mak, 24/31
    • Vi, 27/28
    • Chief, Dead
    • Warchanter, Dead
    • Commando 1, Dead
    • Commando 2, Dead
    • Commando 3, Dead
    • Commando 4, Dead
On the chief you find a very well made breastplate, a very well made short sword, three potion vials, his dented gold crown, and a key ring with keys.
On each of the commandos you find studded armor, a light wooden shield, a short sword of poor quality, a shortbow and a combined total of 73 arrows.
On the warchanter, you find studded armor, a whip, a short sword, a shortbow and 15 arrows, and one potion vial.

As per normal, Kiah attempts to notice the most valuable item among the treasure in an attempt to claim it for herself.

Appraise most valuable item in horde (1d20+12=20)

Vi casts Detect Magic to determine which of the treasures might be magical.

She also waits for the rest of the party to congratulate her on her handling of the goblin chief and his minions...

Kiah points to the short sword. Does anyone want this sword? It looks good quality. A little small for me, but I think I can make use of it as a back-up dagger.

Actually the sword is sized for medium creatures, which is why the chief used it two-handed.

Sorry. The breastplate is medium. The bows are mixed, depending on who needs one. All other weapons and armor is small.

Vi relays the information to the rest of the party, Kiah, you will be happy with that sword, since it is magically enhanced. Two of the potions are healing, although I am not sure how strong. The other is a transmutation, which would suggest some kind of enhancement.

Let's make sure gather up all the treasure from the chest. I hope one of you strong and mighty gentlemen can carry it all. Should we go back to the chief's throne room to see if there is more treasure? I recall he had a pet lizard. Maybe he left it there to guard something... Or should we follow the chief's directions, go downstairs, and confront this Nualia bitch who seems to be responsible for all the recent trouble?

Hearing no objections, Dregs takes the breastplate for himself and begins putting it on. Hold on a momen' laddies. Once he's finished, he tuts a bit about the scuffs and stains that came from it crashing into the floor and begins polishing them with his sleeve whilst they walk.

For my character sheet, I'm just assuming it's a normal breastplate. If it's anything else, then will I know about it?
