LoF: The Carrion King; Day Three

The wishes unleashed over the ages by two genies have warped the Pale Mountain region to keep alive both a terrible beast and a heroic protector. These wishes have subtly warped the weave of the world to put a handful of adventurers on a trail to Kelmarane. It is these adventurers who will tread the path of fate at its most treacherous juncture, and it is they who will ultimately chart the course of history.

Damn...

Simi focuses his energy into his coming movements, and readies himself for the creature to descend.

Atk, /w Bless & Smite (1d20+7+1+2=22, 1d8+3+2=8)
OUT OF CHARACTER
Active Smite Evil against that creature, Ready his action for when the creature swoops down. If it is an Evil Outsider both Atk and Dmg increase by +2, and it bypasses DR. Also, Simi gain +2 Deflection to AC (22)

Erin also readies herself for any comming attack, she grabs her magical wayfinder and uses it to shine light up where she suspects the creature (she holds her rapier ready in her right hand and holds the wayfinder in her left hand.) a short leather strap holds it in place around her wrist.
She knows she will possibly be a target to attack and she goes into defensive stance. (total defense)

She will us the device to lighten the upper area and light upon the creature or shadow whatever it does react most to.
"I'll light it, attack when possible!!"

Missing two action posts. Will be validating Friday morning.

I'm going to begin a more rigorous commitment to keeping this PbP moving. From now on, every Wednesday and Sunday morning will be validation, unless a validation occurred the day prior due to all players posting, or those necessary posting. When we started this, I promised to keep this moving along at a faster pace, asking that my players commit to checking in at least every other day for any updates/changes to the PbP. If a validation is due on the above mornings, and players needed to post have not, once my validation is up, your action will be lost unless within that same day. If possible, due to player activity, I'm able to validate more frequently, I will. This mostly will be affecting encounters, but may affect other aspects of the PbP as well. My goal is to have this module completed this year. Please help me achieve this.

Excellent incentive: I would also like to add that if you are unable/unwilling to commit to this PbP (or any other PbP for that matter), please remove yourself from this game by contacting the DM: There are many other people who would simply love to take your place. thanks.

There's too many actions here. Taking total defense is a standard action and commanding the wayfinder to emit light (as the spell) is a standard action. As a result, I'm completely disregarding your second post to help Eli stand since you make that only a condition of not interfering with your other action. So, You're either using the wayfinder, or taking total defense. 1) Emit Light 2) Total Defense (1d2=1) Erin uses her wayfinder to emit light.

Erin mutters something holding her wayfinder sheathed wrist before her and it suddenly emits a soft torch-like light from it. Looking up, the light doesn't fully reach into the rafters, but enough of it gets there to see the creature moving about.
OUT OF CHARACTER
No Action from Ox though his player took the time to acknowledge my decision on validation frequency.

What kind of demonic monster was this!? seems my blows were only half as damaging as they normally are!! Ox says, shaking his head at the abomination.
And worst, WHAT are a bunch of gnolls doing with this thing in their village!? He says, unable to phantom a satisfactory answer.

Kroft, you need some healing He states the obvious, hoping the healers have a bit of healing left.

We need to search this place for clues... just in case there are any.
Erin, can you check around?

Through Katja, Laron sees nothing new happening outside and lets the door swing free. Extra daylight washes into the building.

While Ox doesn't really find much as he looks around, he does note that this Mill has not been used in years. Many of the gears and cogs and belts and pulleys are broken, missing, or about to crumble. There's enough openings in the roof to allow daylight to shine through and judging by the angle of the shadows, he figures maybe another two hours before the gnolls would be expected. Here and there are the carcasses of animals, mostly goat, with their chest cavities torn open, each in varying degree of rot.
A double door at N39/M40 opens to a dock, while a single door at L32 leads out to the open. Near that door is a flight of stairs leading to a small office and underneath that are cubbyholes and a desk.

Kroft, looking a bit pale, stares and the dead creature, still wondering just what it is. I wonder if we can get any information from the gnolls. You think the ones who come to feed it have any idea what it is or why it's here? He slumps against a wall. I'm not sure I'm up for another ambush, but now is likely the best time, before they figure out this things is dead.

I do apologize for the missed round. I've spent quite a lot of time helping friends clean out their flooded home.

Simi walks over to Kroft and says Abadar has blessings left for me..

He uses his two remaining lay on hands (2d6 total).

That looks better. Now, I think we should be getting out of here.

Simi's Lay on Hands x2 (1d6=3, 1d6=6)
Thank you, Simi. That definitely feels much better. Kroft reaches into his pack and pulls out his curative potion. If we're going to take on the gnolls in a couple hours, then I'll need this, too. He then waits to see what others think about what to do next.
