It wasn't easy.
Erin surveys the immediate area and sees no threat so you move on, carrying all that has been found. Carefully, you cross the bridge, scanning the two roads ahead. One forks northeast, the other follows the string of buildings that building 2 is adjacent to. You opt for the road leading northeast. As you reach the edge of the ruins this road leads you through you hear commotion to the south. When you look, you see the gnolls in an uproar as two others drag the body of the boar out. You do your best to make haste and spread out on the open plain, using what cover you can find to hide your trail and presence.
Soon you reach the Monastery. Your escape undetected. By now you expect they found the dead creature and will be surely making efforts to route out the attackers.
“Ah. By your description, this sounds like a peryton. Most dangerous this thing is. It's likely the goats were merely a payoff to ally it to the gnolls. It's shadow can assume the shape of whomever it touches and from then on, it has the upper hand over that subject. It's good that you caught it in such a confined space. Had it been out in the open, it could have likely been the end of at least one of you.” Garavel then departs, asking you to wait in the
debriefing room, which is also the mess hall when no one is eating. He eventually returns with Almah and Father Zastoran. She looks pleased after getting all the details.
“Rest up. You've done well. The gnolls will likely turn the town upside down, thinking you are there. They are not the brightest of creatures.”
