After a while, the two drivers, Hadrod and his wife Hadrah, return with a set of knives and some sheets of leather.
“All these dammed feathers. Wonder what can be made from them.” Hadrah says to her husband. He merely raises an eyebrow.
The two get to roping the dead bird when Hadrod looks back and finds something missing. With a whistle Rombard comes trotting in with his small cart. The couple waste no time in gutting the bird. Pulling out the liver, kidney, heart, and stomach and laying them on a leather sheet, Hadrod promptly pulls the ends of the leather and then ties it shut, tight. The then set to cutting out whole lengths of muscle from the bird's chest. The meat is very lean. Indeed, this will make for good eating a very long time.
“Do you think we have enough seasonings to cure the meat with?” Hadrod asks.
“Plenty I think. Don't forget the innards neither. You always forget the innards.” His wife replies.
With this all taken care of, the group of you return to doing your own thing, as does everyone else. The mercs set to patrolling the perimeter with one or two of you joining the patrol to kill time.
Evening falls and Simi finds himself being summoned by Almah. “She's in need of your advice on something.” Garavel leaves expecting that your following him. A moment later you rise and follow. He's leading you into her chambers, the old ruined library. There's a table set out there with two chairs. Garavel shows you to a chair and then goes to the tent in the middle of the room. You see that the guards are stationed at each corner of the room on the balcony above. The repairs seem to be holding. Garavel leaves after speaking into the opening of the tent and you're alone, sort of.
The flap opens and Almah comes out. She sits at the table.
“I wish for a reading. I must know what the stars have laid ahead of me. Will you do this?”
