Drik (Before lion-readied action is triggered--initiative set to this position in future rounds, should the lion survive)
The Black Knight (4)
The lion is released and pounces on The Black Knight. As it does, Drik springs into action, casting a spell upon the animal.
Fort save vs. Flare (1d20+6=26)
Unfortunately, the lion is not affected by the spell.
For The Black Knight, I need six attack rolls with the tower shield for opposed rolls vs. the lion's attacks, in addition to his normal actions for the round:
Pounce attack rolls (claw; claw; bite; rake; rake; bite for disarm) (1d20+9=16, 1d20+9=14, 1d20+4=11, 1d20+9=11, 1d20+9=26, 1d20+4=22)
Should The Black Knight defeat the third attack, he automatically defeats the disarm attempt, as well, as that is a result of the Improved Grab ability of the lion, which requires the bite attack succeed.
Here is the damage for the five attacks (if the disarm attempt succeed, the two rake attacks are against The Black Knight, not his shield).
Pounce attack damage (claw; claw; bite; rake; rake) (1d4+5=7, 1d4+5=9, 1d8+2=9, 1d4+2=5, 1d4+2=5)
Should the first three attacks hit, the shield is destroyed (12 damage + 8 damage = 20 damage, putting the shield at 0 hp). The Black Knight must succeed on at least one opposed roll among the first three or his shield is destroyed.
