CoT: Bastards of Erebus - The Sewers

I looked, but didn't find the type of action a trip is, but I'm believing this to be an attack action. You cannot do both, so I assume the trip is your action for the next round?

yes i'll attempt the trip attack. I wasn't aware of the whole spell description as i was going purely from the description on TOS+ so didn't know that it would be cancelled out by the attack.

The battle of the rotting flesh continues as Karadlon advances on zombie 7 to attack. He must have stepped on something though as his swing goes left missing the zombie. Run seeks to bring an end to the conflict, but he missed only just barely as he attacks the zombie. He's shocked be his apparent lack of success. For some reason, Keider tries, unsuccessfully, throwing a dart at the zombie that's been attacking Anna, but when he does, zombie 7 gets in a forearm smack to Keider's shoulder, knocking him and causing his dart to fly past the intended target. Olo, on the other hand, has much better success when in his rage he sends zombie parts flying everywhere. At the same moment, an aura of energy seems to envelope Anna, but nothing seems to change. However, once the energy fades from her, zombie 6's attention turns from her to Olo. Olo blocks the attack of the zombie with ease. Zombie 7 seeks to bash in Karadlon's cheek, but Kara ducks just in time for the blow to fly wildly past.

Forum moderators forbid me to tell you all what I really think of IC. This thing has been rolling nothing but crap for me all summer, wether it be this game, or the other one I am taking part in in this forum, or even the stat roller option for creating characters. Anna changes her mind about tripping her opponent apparently and instead uses her newfound invisibility to move to AJ16, making the most of the distracted monster she attacks it from behind if Olo hasn't already killed it.

If you're referring to my validation not including your trip attempt, it's because you cannot preform the same action type in the same round. Your spell is a standard action to cast and the trip is an attack action, both of which being the same type of action.

not that it makes much diffrence i'm pretty sure the trip rolled to low so at least i'm invisible for now.

Just to clarify, your post was not clear to me that you intended to just trip instead of cast. Your quote shows how it could be misinterpreted. In any event.

Karadlon expresses to Keider the idea of teamwork as he swings his longsword about. Still his focus remains true to his intent and connects fully with the zombie, sending its head tumbling to the stone floor and into the water. Run seeks equal success, but finds his attack is too late after Karadlon's killing blow. With zombie 7 put down, Keider instead heads for zombie 6 and attempts to stab it, but finds hard bone preventing him getting in deep. The damage he does is not as much as it could have been. In a fit of rage, Olo swings at the zombie, but his focus is wild and out of control. He misses the creature, but manages to remain balanced. Anna swings her light mace at the zombie, but finds her bludgeoning weapon not as effective as the slashing weapons her comrades are using. Missing the creature, Anna still remains unknown to it.

The last remaining zombie tries slamming a fist into Keider's face, but the rogue is much to quick for that.

well would you look at that, zombies have damage reduction against bludgeoning. Serves me right for running 3rd ed monsters in my campaigns.

 


A lightbulb finally sparks above Anna's head as she see's the horrible wounds the other party members are inflicting with their swords and she spends her next turn putting her mace away and switching to her longsword.

I just became aware of a serious mistake on my part. It seems that when we rebooted, I never downloaded your 1st level submissions, which means I never updated your character tokens in maptool. If I update them now, then that means a few of you would likely be dead. Being as your actions were based on my status of HP, this would not be fair to do. I could try and balance it all out percentage-wise, but I'll have to look at it tomorrow, in the morning, before I have to leave for work. I'll have a correction posted before this weekend is over.

Karadlon advances to AI17 swinging his longsword with intent, but his timing is off or something because his blade passes before reaching the zombie. Rundorrig follows Karadlon, but has much better success as his scimitar slices into, and through the zombie's chest, inflicting serious damage felling the walking rot mongrel. Keider stops his action after seeing that there are no further threats. Looking about the area, you see Jan and Morosino still making their way around the gather. It's clear that she knows of another way, or that just in case one way is not safe, there's an alternate. She does not seem to be waiting on you, or even checking up on you. Her instructions were clear though, get to the safe house and head across this crossing and north along the west wall. With the zombies taken care of, and no further threats apparent, it's time for you to choose your route.

You also evaluate your own health and recall that if Anna has no more healing to her, that you do have potions available.

Karadlon, battered and bruised, yells out, Run, he then takes a moment to breath before going on, She ordered us to go North up the West wall. I believe that is the way we should take.

When I updated everyone, to the correct HP, it seems that I passed Keider, but I'm seeing him with 16, not 14 HP. Are you sure it's 14?

I still do not think you have my HP correct. I have 33 before damage. I must have missed how much damage I have taken as I only show 7, so I must not have save an updated sheet.

I still do not think you have my HP correct. I have 33 before damage. I must have missed how much damage I have taken as I only show 7, so I must not have save an updated sheet.

You're looking at your 2nd level character. No one is 2nd level. You should all be 1st level unless you can show me where I told you to level.

For healing, I did point out that when entering the sewers, Jan gave you each three potions of CLW. Please, I need you guys to keep better track of what goes on here. If you need, feel free to maintain a thread for notes if one does not exist already. There is a wiki, I need to remind, for this game. At least I believe there was one started.
