Round 1 Begins

Aladar disappears from sight. When he reappears, he is on the other side of Scorpion 1, slashing it with his kama [14 damage total].

[yell]Grarh![/yell] Penno cries out as he moves forward to attack the closest stingy bug. He exterminates Scorpion 1 with his first swing. He redirects his second swing at the second scorpion, but misses.

Scorpion 2 scuttles up to Penno and snaps at him with both claws. It hits with one claw [8 hp damage], tries to grab hold, and fails. It misses with the second claw and with its stinger. Scorpion 3 waves its stinger angrily, since the whole party is out of its reach.

[ae]Ignore the blue on your level. The water is gone.

Round 1 Continues
Fisma - 3 STR damage
Ajatnarp - 19 hp damage, wild shaped into a crocodile
Mich - 4 DEX damage
Milton Doyle - 11 hp, 1 STR damage
Round 2 Begins
Aladar Noshad – 17 hp, 2 STR damage
Penno - 28 hp damage, enlarge person 3.3 min left

Round 1 Continues

Fisma watches and waits, not anticipating that this fight will require his intervention.

Aja moves around the corner and down the ramp, somehow managing to avoid being snapped by the scorpion's claw on the way [AoO missed]. He gives scorpion 2 a nasty bite, but fails to grab hold [8 hp damage, grapple check failed].

Milton tumbles under the belly of scorpion 2 and stabs it with his rapier [17 hp damage].

Round 2 Begins

Aladar steps up and hits with the second of the two blows in his flurry, doing just enough damage to finish off the second scorpion [8 hp damage]

[talk]Har![/talk] Penno cries, as he moves toward the last scorpion, [talk]Stingy bugs will die![/talk] He gives the stingy bug a whack with his very large sword [20 hp damage]

Instead of dying, the last stingy bug snaps Penno right up in its claws [7 hp damage and Penno is grappled].

[ae]Ignore the blue on your level. The water is gone.

Round 2 Continues
Fisma - 3 STR damage
Ajatnarp - 19 hp damage, wild shaped into a crocodile

Round 3 Begins
Aladar Noshad – 17 hp, 2 STR damage

Round 2 Continues

Fisma continues to watch, not terribly concerned.

Croc-Aja slithers past the scorpion, which is too preoccupied with Penno to care. Not so preoccupied that it is hurt by Aja's less-than-perfectly-aimed tail slap, however.

Milton is another story, though. He dances right past the bug and stabs it to death with his rapier.

Combat over. Fisma and Mich wander down the ramp. It will be an easy walk around this level (c) to will reach the chute (3) down to the next, watery, tier (d). Fortunately, unlike the last water level, (d) isn't quite filled to the top... Also, you are now better able to see the shapes swimming around level (d) and you will probably find them familiar. They are Sea Cats, just like the creature that Aja summoned a while back.

[ooc]A description of the "Stingy bug level" and the next tier, to refresh your memory:

On the third terrace (c), a thin layer of sand covers the floor of this arid level, and desiccated bones lie scattered about. Three large monstrous scorpions roam about this level, making no effort to hide. At the point marked (3) is a ramp that leads down to the next terrace (d) below. The forth terrace (d), like (b), somehow contains water without the liquid flowing into the floor below. However, the water in this level is only 8 feet deep (i.e., it only reaches within 2 feet of the floor of desert terrace (c)). There are two more shadow shapes swimming about here. These are slightly larger than those on level (b) (about 12 feet long) and appear to be whale- or dolphin-like.

Here's the description of the whole crazy room. After you finish this room, there are only 2 more encounters left to the completion of this mission![/ooc]

[ae]Fisma - 3 STR damage
Ajatnarp - 19 hp damage, wild shaped into a crocodile
Mich - 4 DEX damage
Milton Doyle - 11 hp, 1 STR damage
Aladar Noshad – 17 hp, 2 STR damage
Penno - 35 hp damage, enlarge person 3.1 min left[/ae]

Aja starts to slap his tail on the ground as if to get everyone's attention. You notice he is shaking his head like he forgot about something and just realized it. He will then cast (yes, I have Natural Spell) Summon Nature's Ally IV and summon a huge shark (giving up Neutralize Poison).

The party makes its way around the Desert Terrace to the ramp that descends into the "Terrace of Watery Doom." The sea cats below also move in that direction, stalking their prey. Penno expresses his excitement at another opportunity to fight, while Milton suggests strategy. Ajatnarp interrupts, however, slapping his tail on the ground and beginning to cast a spell.

[ooc]The creature that Aja is summoning will appear at the start of next round, which will also start combat. Note that Neutralize Poison is a 3rd level druid spell. You can either drop that for Summon III and get a large shark or you can drop Flame Strike for Summon IV and your huge shark. Let me know and also let me know where you want the shark to appear.

Everyone else can post any preparations they want to make before the fight starts (e.g., reposition yourself if you don't like where I put you, etc.).

Ignore the door, it's on the bottom level, not this one.[/ooc]

Aja will summon the large (not huge) shark and put it at 1864 so fishie 1 cannot get to us and flank us easily. Aja will then wait to see what everyone else is going to do.

[ooc]The level you are currently on (the desert level) has no penalties. The level below (the one with the blue down the ramp) requires actual swimming or walking on the bottom. It differs from the previous underwater level only in that there's some head space. You can swim on the surface and still breathe. So the answer is complicated and has something to do with swim checks versus having a swim speed versus walking on the bottom. I'd give you an exact answer, but I'm out of town right now... Is "same as the last time without holding your breath" good enough?[/ooc]
