PbP: D&D meets Percy Jackson [FULL]

Post by rednetra » Tue Dec 14, 2010 12:43 am

PbP FORM
Title: Godlings and the world around them.

Brief description: So been thinking about starting a game were D&D meets Percy Jackson books. your off to a location that is the only safe place for you from Monsters. you are kids of gods so only half gods. I'm thinking the Greek Pantheon from the book Deity and Demigods.

Rule System: Pathfinder

Validation Frequency:as many times we can in combat i will Validate as soon as i can and when having Role-playing also the same.

Min/Max Number of Players: 5-7

Start Date: once we have the Characters and people are ready

Classes and Races Allowed:Most books are allowed. Same with race. but no ECL

Starting Level of PCs:Level 2 i think.

Stats Generation: 18, 17,14, 14. 12, 11

Starting Equipment/Wealth:1500 Gold

Background Information: You are born to a Geek God that mated with your other Parent. I will take your preference for what god you wants as a parent into consideration. but i might want something different. your god parent was not allowed to be around so made it seem they left you even if your other parents kept telling you that you were loved and it was not there fault.
End Conditions: Conditions denoting the end of this game - There are a great Many Stories on this. so we can go for a while i would like to keep this going to maybe even Epic game but earning each level.

Notes: After a certain age you were either dropped off to sent or what not sent too this school and you sometimes could go home for holidays but it all depended who your God parent was. Monsters are out too kill half-bloods. the Real world does not know much about Half-blood. Also it might bring in other Pantheons so it could turn into a war of the gods.

I have a few questions:

1. Will this be including your usual usage of amazing powers in characters? (PM me an answer if you want to maintain secrecy).

2. You mentioned other pantheons... Would I be able to start with a child of a god from another pantheon?

3. When you say "3.5 with some pathfinder mixed in", specifically what pathfinder elements do you mean?

4. Will you be allowing Book of Nine Swords?

5. Will you be allowing classes and races from other campaign settings? (Probably not an issue for me, but I'd like to have the option.)

Kind of yes. it will depend on who your Parent is. in the books like the movie you have some "power" but not like i am use too it will be one power then might gain them like ever 5 levels or something like that.
2. You mentioned other pantheons... Would I be able to start with a child of a god from another pantheon?
Yes im useing the Greek Patheon in this game.
3. When you say "3.5 with some pathfinder mixed in", specifically what pathfinder elements do you mean?
The class features and as that is all i have really read so far but if you PM me a certen thing i can read it and agree to it or not.
4. Will you be allowing Book of Nine Swords?
Yes that book is more then welcome.
5. Will you be allowing classes and races from other campaign settings? (Probably not an issue for me, but I'd like to have the option.)
Yes but as long as there is no ECL race i would allow almost any race.

Personally, I think you should probably go all or nothing. Using pathfinder classes with 3.5 rulings will probably get a bit confusing.

There also remains the issue of getting TOS+ to implement both systems together, which it is not designed to do.

I concur: You cannot use TOS+ in both Pathfinder and 3.5 at the same time...

I'm in. I think I'm just gonna aim for something simple though as far as race goes, human or half-orc. Be a son of Ares or Athena and a fighter or possibly an oracle of battle.

I'm still mulling it over. I'm not familiar with Percy Jackson, so I'm not knowing really what this would be about.

at the start it will be a lot at the safety of the camp. then maybe after they will pick a few for a quest to help there parents. since as the gods say they always need Demigod to survive.

I've been looking into this, on wikipedia, and I'm still not sure. I'm not thinking so right now, but it seems there's time yet to figure yay or nay.

Duni, from what I've seen, the Percy Jackson books are pretty similar to the Harry Potter ones. The only real difference is the sort of things that they learn at 'school'.

I think I will be taking part. I'm still not sure on class or race yet though.

EDIT: Scratch that. I'm gonna be a Warblade. If I can find the right book, I'll probably be a Shifter as well. If anyone has the Eberron books on PDF, then I would appreciate it if they could send me it.

Ah. Then maybe perhaps I might. I'm leaning towards warforge for race. Will this be Okay? I'm still deciding.

Yes it will be slow and such much like the one game started and being doing this and that from the camp as it is not a school. you will have games of carputer the flag, or Pegiese rideing, trips into the woods to kill monsotrs that are stocked there. normal mortals can not find the place or if they tend to be hicking they always walk away. then you might get sent on a quest ever no and then. the books have a LARGE quest that are world saveing so not sure i will go that far but who knows.

each person will have a power that matchs who is God Parent is. so like if it is Neptun it might be while in water he heals faster and he can breath water. and say Athena might have the Spell Owl Wisdom a certen times a day.

Playing a Warforge would make your God parent would be Hephaestus as he is the god of building and such.

I will be useing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Gr ... al_figures
Detiys and Demi gods the D&D book.
I might find other Sourese on the Web.

ONce i have a comfermation of players ill as Admin make a Thread. Some of the quest will be as simple as running a note to someone else in the worls or that a Monstors has expaed Tarters and is ransacing an area and your sent to there to check it out and maybe kill him back.

I would like to be in. Not sure the race yet, but if you will allow the Advanced Players Guide, and the TOS betas have the Inquisitor class, I think I would like to try that class. If not, I will pick a more standard race and class.

sounds like a plan. i have someone who downloaded the pathfinder game books as well as http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ so i shuold be ok to run the game in pathfinder and learn the new system as you all grow in level. as i also said once i get a section and you put forth your concept i will ask for your top 3 choices for the god parents.

If you had access to the Beta version (TOS+ v3.509) I'd be able to make use of the APG content.
