Here is Erebate. The 3 gods he chose are as follows.
Ate
Tyche
Nemesis
Erebate was the bastard son of a whore, at least in his own mind. His father, unknown to him left before his birth. When ever he asked his mother about his father, she would claim to be unsure of which man fathered him. But it was obvious to Erebate that his mother blamed him for his father leaving. She would look at him with a cold eye as he grew older. He knew he reminded her of him. Some nights, when she thought he was asleep, he could hear her yelling at him, as though he could hear her. She would scream it wasn't fair, and that I should not be her burden.
At age 7 the plan became in motion. I knew that she didn't really love me, and that I needed to learn to fend for myself. I began sleeping during the day, and sneaking out at night. The streets seemed alive, and the shadows my friends. That is where I met the gypsy. He had taken me under his wing, and taught me how to pick pockets and locks as well. We also trained in fencing with a rapier. It came almost naturally to me. For the next 4 years, I trained and learned the ways to earn coin and food on the streets. That's when it all came to an end, and my world turned upside down.
It was early evening, and I just awoke from a wonderful dream. I showered, then put on my leather armor, and the wonderful glasses I had purchases with my pilfering. I repelled down the side of the building, just like any other night and met the older gypsy man for my lessons. He told me instead of classes tonight, he was going to tell me a story. He started to go on about the Gods, and how they interacted with mortals. It took a lot of self control not to laugh at the man. I noticed my whore of a mother on the corner not 2 blocks away. She always seemed to be just around the corner, working for any man that had the coin. That's when it happened. This bat like thing came out of the sky, screeching like a banshee and clawing at me. The gypsy man moved faster than i thought possible, and drew his rapier and it flashed faster than one could imagine. Suddenly, my mother appeared next to him, swinging a short sword as well. My mouth lay open, as I watched the two of them battle with this flying deamon. I couldn't believe my mum was there trying to defend me. The shock wore off when that flying she thing killed my mother. I drew my rapier and joined the battle, screaming as if possessed. The deamon showed a flash of recognition when it saw me, and began to focus its attention on me. That's when the gypsy landed a devastating blow to the deamon. It wailed like nothing I have ever heard before, and turned on him. I noticed the pouch tied to its waist with a thin cord. I deftly struck the cord, and caught the pouch before it hit the ground. As I went for another strike, it turned and disappeared as fast as it had arrived.
The older man took my shoulder, and told me I must follow him. We "acquired" a horse drawn carriage, and fled the city proper to this camp. He tried to explain that he was sent to protect me, as was my mother. That I was special, and so was this camp. It was a lot to take in at once, but after what I have witnessed, I can only assume it is the truth. Now let's see what this camp is all about.
