The rule gave a +4 to AC for anyone following. If you specifically squeeze with the one holding the shield, you would double that bonus, but not gain total cover. So I under stand correctly. Are you saying anyone squeezing in behind Valeors or Kyra carring Tower Shield the cover doubles from +4 to +8? But, it is only +4 when they follow. Where does it talk about cover provied when following?

The trap description mentions that anyone following a Tower Shield holder gets +4 to AC versus the arrows. The +8 is my interpretation of trying to squeeze behind someone holding the tower shield as this is not covered in the adventure module.[/ooc]

Valeros moves back to just in front of Merisiel at O6 [talk]So Merisiel, just wrap your arms around me (squeeze behind me) and tell me were you need me to go[/talk] Valeors will move to wherever Merisiel directs him to go, and will keep the tower shield between himself, Merisiel and the Pillar of a Thousand Arrows.

[ooc]Not to metagame too much, but can they move slowly (1 move per round) so that Merisiel can take total defense, too? Although perhaps that is not worth it, since there will be twice as many attacks moving slow...

EDIT: Anyway, once we have a door open to another safe spot we should be able to cross the room without any more danger to anyone else, right? Kyra goes over to the "safe zone" with her tower shield and brings back both tower shields for her and Ezren to use?[/ooc]

With out any direction from Merisiel on which door to go to first, Valeros moves to the first door @ R9. Valeros turns his head back and comments [talk]Saddle-up[/talk] and moves out.

After much discussion on how to proceed, Valeros once again enters the room, squeezed by Merisiel. The arrows continue their deafening cacophony as the pair advance very slowly toward the southern door. Even with much protection, 2 arrows still manage to sneak toward Merisiel. One misses, while the other one hits her on the side of her hear, having ricocheted of a wall. Merisiel -7 NLdmg
Once again, Merisiel falls unconscious on the floor... Valeros turns his attention back to the fallen elven maid and kneels to protect her from the blunt, yet deadly rain. Just then, the cacaphony seems to abate and then suddenly stops. Looking at the pillar, you see that it has been completely emptied of arrows. The floor is littered with arrows. There must be a thousand on the floor, making the room difficult to walk through!

Just enough to fill her quiver back up again. I remember her using some against the skeletons.
