[EDP] Traveler's Rest

Heroes are called to action in a dark time when Demons, Dark Elves, and other evils lurk around every corner and behind every deed. Like flies they'll become entangled in a web of treachery and deceit spun by none other than Lolth, the Demon Queen of Spiders, herself. Will they succeed in restoring balance in a game of greater and sinister powers or will they fall trying?

Fash moves out of the building, (to J6), and makes out the large forms in the sleet. Even in the night air, still a little groggy from sleep, he perks up and gets a little grin on his face. He takes another couple steps to give everyone some room. (2nd Move to L7)

Sizing up the southern most creature, he gets ready for the dance. (Declared Dodge target, southern most Ogre(?))

AC vs Dodge Target = 31 (Dodge +1, Combat Expertise +1, Titan Fighting +4, Mobile Fighting, +1)
AC vs Other = 26 (I think Titan Fighting only applies to the dodge target, it is in Races of Stone i believe, if you want to verify)

Fyris moves to L6 and, seeing the impressive sleet storm, decides to add his own touch of chaos into the mix.

 OUT-OF-CHARACTER:   
Casting Ice Storm, using his rod to Enlarge the spell, centred on the same spot as the Sleet Storm.


Ice Storm (cold) damage:
Benji rolled 2d6 and got a total of 8.


Ice Storm (physical) damage:
Benji rolled 3d6 and got a total of 12.


The cylinder takes up the exact same space as the Sleet Storm, but is 80' high. All creatures within it have -4 to their listen checks and half movement (stacks with Sleet Storm's penalties.)

Having seen an invisible foe around P18 before casting Sleet Storm, Ryceak position himself a little bit closer at M6 standing at about 15 feet in the air and ready is action. As soon as he sees the invisible foe again, he will cast "Dispel Magic" at him to remove is invisibility.

 ACTIVE EFFECTS & CONDITIONS for "Ryceak"   
    - See the Unseen, Fell Flight
    - Readied action to cast "Dispel Magic" on the invisible foe

Valora picks up her gauntlets off the bed and swiftly pulls them on. There is no time for donning her boots. Taking her great sword with her, she moves toward the door on bare feet.

He takes another couple steps to give everyone some room. Sizing up the southern most creature, he gets ready for the dance. (Declared Dodge target, southern most creature. The driving sleet suddenly stops and Ryceak spots his invisible foe as her hands come down to her sides and a grin comes across her face satisfied with her spell's success and orders the ogres to charge. He makes his own attempt at dispelling and succeeds. She suddenly shimmers into appearance before the eyes of the other party members and her smile fades as she moves forward angrily. The other drow in trees roar with rage and charge Zeeaire with greataxes raised. Zeeaire dodges the first quite easily the second comes closer but she manages to get out of the way.The three ogres lumber forward becoming clear as they do so that they are no longer among the living, two of them making a beeline straight for Fash and swing with large two-handed clubs. Neither swing comes anywhere close to touching the nimble gnome.

Two against one is rather ignoble of you, don't you think? Fortunately, this one is not as helpless as she appears... Note that Zeeaire has no silly accent in Undercommon. She learned it better, I guess.

Zeeaire then reaches out to give the northernmost drow (at A12) an electric shock (casting Shocking Grasp, standard action).

Valora raced around through the door and around the side of the building in her bare feet. She slid to a stop when the dead ogres came into her view. She breathed a prayer, "My Lady Steelheart, don't forsake us!"

Holding her sword before her, pointed at the nearest of the monsters, she cries out in Elvish, "Evil creatures of the dark... Begone or hold thy place! Our hearths will burn thee and our swords will destroy thee! You have no power here!"

Looking at those decaying Ogres, Ryceak wants to Turn them away and help his new allies, but feels he needs to concentrate on the Spellcaster. So asking Tymora to protect them, he activate his "Protection Devotion" and before moving to P9 he tells the others keep within 30ft from me and Tymora's Protection will be with you Flying at 15ft in the air, Ryceak evades the Ogre's reach by moving around them ("N6,O6,P7,P8,P9") Reaching is destination, the earth around begins to ripple, and a directed shock wave of tectonic force is released that shoots through the ground.

 ACTIVE EFFECTS & CONDITIONS for Ryceak   
- Fell Flight (Evocation): Fly 25ft, Good
- Protection devotion (Feat) [CC.p61]: Immediate action, +4 Sacred bonus to AC to all allies within 30 ft radius centered on Ryceak for 1 min

Fyris steps out of the rest station, surveys the scene and sees the spellcaster and decides to make her ears ring. He launches an orb of sonic energy at her which hits and does significant damage and causing her to clutch her ears screaming.

Round 3
Zeeaire speaks to the drow and her words causing them to shake with rage. Zeeaire then reaches out to give the northernmost drow (at A12) an electric shock and making him shake from more than his rage. She then somehow tumbles UP the side of the building 10 feet out of their reach! And stays there like a spider! Fash steps into the southern most of the pair (5' to L8) and slashes at the smelly lumbering ogre. Though it is clear on his face that he is disgusted with the undead. Also he notices that his attacks don't seem to even annoy the things! Valora raced around through the door and around the side of the building in her bare feet. The priestess looks at Ryceak with annoyance but she turns her attention to the one who cost her her hearing and caused her pain. She attempts to cast a spell. With Ryceak's spellcraft he recognizes the spell as Confusion.

Fash calls out, Can anyone put the hammer down on the lumbering dead here? All I can do is try to keep them busy! He move 5' to M8 (Move 1), bumps his Combat Expertiseto max (+5) and starts Fighting Defensively(+3 due to tumble) trying to get the stupid dead to focus on him, simply slashing his rapier at them however ineffectual it is.

As the drow flee, Zeeaire taunts them in undercommon.

Zeeaire drops off the side of the building, effortlessly landing on her feet.

DC15 Jump check to jump down, treating the fall as 10 feet shorter, and land on her feet:
patransom rolled 1d20+10 and got a total of 25.

Then, she pursues the drow around the side of the building (to -A5) and uses one of her psionic powers in an attempt to stop the warrior's escape.

I did roll a Will Save. Whether it was successful or not is another story. But, assuming a 21 saves....


Valora steels herself for the battle. The Turning had failed dismally, so she must now rely on her other skills to defeat the evil before her. She hefted her great sword and silently rushed forward to the ogre directly before her.

Attack roll including +2 for Charge
Phiona rolled 1d20+15 and got a total of 32:

Damage (if hit was successful):
Phiona rolled 2d6+5 and got a total of 10:

Seeing that the Tremor didn't do much to the caster and earing Fash's call about the Ogres, Ryceak activate his "Gift of the Patron's protective aura" (Swift Action, Magic Circle against evil, 10ft centered on me, 5 rounds only) then while turning towards the Ogres do is 5' step to Q11 and shouts Leave them along and go back to where you come from

Total HD affected
UltimateWolf rolled 2d6+9 and got a total of 14:

Destroy undead up to 4 HD...


For is remaning move action, Ryceak removes is Softhand gloves and slowly his Halfling features fades and is replace by his Draconic features.

 OUT-OF-CHARACTER:   
    - If he has time in is move action to remove his gloves and put another pair, he will then put his Gloves of Eldritch Admixture, else he will put them on in another round.
    - if after submiting this posting I see that one of my rolls in my turning undead attempt is to low, I will us my Luck Domain" granted power and reroll 1 roll

Ryceak Cleric level is 8 for the purpose of turning undead, so I will keep my Turn Check roll of 11 and I am hoping that the Ogres are not higher then 8HD


 ACTIVE EFFECTS & CONDITIONS for Ryceak   
    - See the Unseen, Fell Flight, Protection Devotion (9 rounds left), Local Tremor (4 uses left), Protection from Evil (5 rounds left)
    - AC 26, Touch 17, Flat 24 (All +2 against Evil)

Folks, I'm afraid that this PbP is now ended: The Hunter, your Game Master, has disappeared from view and is not replying to messages. For the record, this is the second time The Hunter has disappeared from the radar while DMing a PbP on the forums here.

I just hope he is okay - I do not know the exact nature of his absence.

In any case, I apologize for this unfortunate situation.
