You and your newfound companions have been contracted to investigate Slip Gallows Abbey, the past headquarters of the late (and unlamented) Gray Deacons. Over forty years ago, all of the Gray Deacons were claimed by an unknown curse and their headquarters sealed by the same magic. Your employer has learned of a way inside and has hired your group of adventurers to slip inside and claim the treasure of the Gray Deacons

[ooc]Shadows inside the wall have Total Cover and cannot be attacked.

Kasidra can:
  • re-consider her action;
  • move and ready her Lay on Hands attack (skipping next rounds action but moving her up in Initiative rank
Thoros' can do the same in the next round, if desired. And Prayer only adds to attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves and skill checks so it wouldn't add to Channel damage. If the shadows had been affected by Prayer, it would have reduced their save rolls.[/ooc]

Striker, hearing Thoros's concerns, signals Cleart to be quite as me moves quietly to take a rear guard position @ 3222. Not knowing what threat could be to the south Striker stows his bow, ready to quick draw whatever weapon may be appropriate. Striker wills Precious to 3122 to aid him with her perception & scent abilities.

ROUND 3 - CONTINUES

Garoth prepares himself to meet any attackers. Striker and Precious move to cover the southern corridor. Nothing is immediately apparent to Striker but Precious sniffs the air and seems interested in both doors on the south side of the corridor.

The humanoid continues to slowly bleed at Mugtork’s feet.

The half-orc has no immediate target so Mugtork readies himself for when a target does present itself.

The shadows move to attack, slipping out of the walls and approaching the nearest members of the party. Kasidra and Garoth both attack as soon as the shadow emerges fully from the wall. Kasidra reaches out and touches the shadow with her glowing hand. Garoth’s attack also hits the creature and that is enough to destroy it. Mugtork slashes another shadow when it appears from the wall but the incorporeal creature is not destroyed by his mighty swing. Still, that attack must have shaken the undead’s resolve because it makes an incredibly clumsy attempt to touch Mugtork, missing badly. The fourth shadow slips from the wall and attacks Thoros. The undead’s touch slips through Thoros’ armor and chills him to the core (6 STR damage). A fifth shadow flows down the stairs and attacks Mugtork but the barbarian is able to avoid its touch.

Cleart takes a 5' step to 3321 before *HE* unleashes a fire bolt (bloodline arcana'd version of lightning bolt) at the shadows (line goes straight up the 33 column). Refl DC 18

Cleart, a dashing figure of foppish masculinity, steps closer to Striker and unleashes a bolt of crackling fire at the three shadows. The one that just attacked Thoros is destroyed and one of the other two is badly damaged.

Kasidra wil first use Detect Evil in an attempt to ensure that there are no more of these creatures in the immediate area, and then will go to both Thoros and then Mugtork to provide some healing. After that she will move down to the rest of the party at 3322 where she will use Detect Evil again

Mugtork and Striker examine the body of the outsider humanoid and the surrounding area. They find the weapons and armor that the humanoid was using – a masterwork short sword and masterwork studded leather armor. When they examine the corpse’s purse, they find a machined metal rod that Striker thinks could fit into the keyhole for the secret door that they passed through before entering this corridor.

Thoros casts some healing magics, first restoring all of Mugtork’s strength and then doing the same for himself.

Kasidra checks the area, too, with her ability to detect evil. The entire corridor, possibly the entire structure, is faintly evil. The paladin does not detect any more undead within the area of her spell. After completely healing both of her companions, Kasidra joins Cleart at the southern corner, by the barred door. She checks for evil again but does not detect anything other than the faint evil that pervades the area. Cleart moves beside her to watch both corridors.

The orc will move to the rest of the group towards the south doors. Getting ready to enter which ever door we go into first. He will draw his weapon and be ready for battle.

Garoth leads the way to the barred door in the southern corridor. The others gather around as the rogue takes the time to examine the door for traps. Garoth cannot detect any traps. The door is not locked, either, but simply barred with a stout piece of wood on the side where they are standing. Presumably the door is meant to keep something or someone on the other side.
