Day 2 -> Still on the lamb

Groggily waking up with a parched throat on a hard floor in a room smelling of stale, unwashed bodies is never the best way to start your day. Realizing that you aren't alone and that one wall is made of bars and not stone like the rest just means that it's going to be even worse than you thought. Your life will be getting very interesting, very soon. A one-shot module for level 1 characters, the players must escape their imprisonment, or face the consequences.

Moe moves into the room, torch in one hand, sword in the other. (Putting you at -S30 as the opponenet was one square over, and you can safely get there). He swings at the Bugbear in the corner, but misses.

Bugbear1 draws a morning and tries to hit Brak, just barely missing.

 OUT-OF-CHARACTER:
@Morck, it was a couple posts above, as the lightsource was still outside the room and hadn't moved. New map image below

Coty will move up to Q29 (if that space is still empty) and summon an eagle to U28.

 OUT-OF-CHARACTER:
apparently didn't get an email alert for the eagle update

The eagle tries to attach the bugbear with its talons and beak, but does not get past the armor.
Bugbear 6 lashes at Moe, but the rogue nimbly dodges the strike.
Dwarf 6 uses the distraction to plant his dagger in the bugbear's gut, felling it. He then turns and studies the room, looking towards the wizard that has kept him imprisoned.
Bugbear 2 hurls a javelin at Siril but it does not fly true.
Bugbear 4 manages a lucky strike though and Brak falls unconscious to the floor, his scalp bleeding.
Bugbear 5 tries to hit the eagle that suddenly appeared but it is too small a target for him.
Dwarf 2 swings his hammer and manages a light blow to bugbear 5's hip.

Zanzer laughs and draws a wand as the remains of the acid arrow sizzles on the skin of the unconscious Brak.

You criminals should have stayed in your cells. You will never escape. A bolt of energy flies from the wand and strikes Siril

Morck will step 5' into the room. Seeing the situation for what it is and noticing Siril is about to move forward, Morck says
Siril, one sec!

Morck then uses one of the Sleep scrolls to target the enemy Wizard and his gnolls (careful not to place his allies into the burst).

Nope, here is why:
Summon Monster I (Sp): Starting at 1st level, a summoner can cast summon monster I as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. Drawing upon this ability uses up the same power as the summoner uses to call his eidolon. As a result, he can only use this ability when his eidolon is not summoned. He can cast this spell as a standard action and the creatures remain for 1 minute per level (instead of 1 round per level). At 3rd level, and every 2 levels thereafter, the power of this ability increases by one spell level, allowing him to summon more powerful creatures (to a maximum of summon monster IX at 17th level). At 19th level, this ability can be used as gate or summon monster IX. If used as gate, the summoner must pay any required material components. A summoner cannot have more than one summon monster or gate spell active in this way at one time. If this ability is used again, any existing summon monster or gate immediately ends. These summon spells are considered to be part of his spell list for the purposes of spell trigger and spell completion items. In addition, he can expend uses of this ability to fufill the construction requirements of any magic item he creates, so long as he can use this ability to cast the required spell.

Interestingly, this lasts 1 minute per level (as opposed to 1 round per level!!!) and is cast as a standard action instead of a full round action!
