Siril pauses to listen at the door for a moment, but hearing nothing, moves to inspect the open crate. He finds that it is about half full of apples. He begins opening one of the other crates to check its contents.

Morck and Axel move to inspect the pile of clothing in the corner. However, they quickly realize that some of the pile of armor, not clothes. Axel begins to look through the pile. Morck sees what may be his trousers as Axel digs through.

Coty and Tessara remain near the door you entered through.

Suddenly, the door opens. You all hear a male voice yell, [yell]Escape! Look out, Javal![/yell]

Morck takes one of the big shields from the pile, hiding behind it and cursing the loss of his magical abilities.

Axel stands up and moves to -A9, his fists raised for a fight. Morck grabs a light steel shield from the edge of the pile and cowers against the wall.

The elf moves to A8. [talk]They are behind the door as well, Javal. Make sure they can't get past you and escape![/talk] He throws a punch at Axel, but your brusk compatriot nimble avoids it.

Another guard steps into the room, closes the door, and puts his back to it. [talk]Don't worry Darkmoon, they won't get past me.[/talk], he says with confidence. He lands a heavy kick to Axel's gut.

Neither guard wears armor and both are empty handed at the moment.

Tessara takes advantage of the confusion and attacks the human guard with the whip

Coty knowing he can do little in a fist fight steps back 5' and plans to retreat behind the boxes as quickly as he can. Once behind the boxes he will try to cast open on a box to see if his magic is back. If so, he will begin to summon Linkie, if not he will try to work his way over to the gear to start sorting through it.

Siril notes the guards are empty handed, do they have melee weapons slung?
If they do not, he attacks with fists, if they do, he reluctantly attacks with the goblin dagger.

Tessara whips out the whip and whips the guard a might blow.
As the guards are not currently armed, Coty safely moves 20' into the corner behind the crates (-D13), but quickly realizes this was not the best move. Holes have been gnawed into the back sides of the two large crates nearest him and the beady eyes of rats almost as large as he is stare out at him.

Upon reaching the corner, Coty yelps in surprise and squeezes past the crates, heading to the next corner.

Siril steps up to the elven guard, and seeing no weapons on the guard at all, punches him.
The elven guard responds to his offer, but remains combat-ready. [talk]Why would I believe the lies of a criminal?[/talk]

Morck moves up, carefully trying to avoid any blows, and tries to reason with the guards.
The elf guard responds to Morck's statement. [talk]Stop exaggerating. You lot just arrived this morning. I knew you were liars.[/talk]

The elf guard strikes Siril for 2 non-lethal damage and the human guard returns Axel's blow.
The rats that Coty was screaming about suddenly appear from behind the crates.

Tessara strikes with the whip again, felling the human guard. However, while her focus is on the guard, the rat bites her leg for 2 damage.

[yell]Javal! NOOOOO![/yell] The elven guard appears very upset.

Coty carefully backs away from the rat that has approached him. Moving toward the corner of the room.

Siril mixes words and actions, striking the elven guard. The guard appears to be too angry to consider his words, though.

Axel, looking pretty beaten up, punches the elf then moves away. The elf guard is looking wobbly on his feet.
Morck drops the shield he was holding to the floor and moves to finish off the elf, but fails to put the bite on him.

The elf, realizing that Morck is attacking with deadly intent tries to punch the half-orc in the face. Unfortunately, Morck manages to bite his hand instead. The mangled flesh is one blow too many and the elf falls unconscious.

The rats attack Tessara and Coty, respectively. Coty avoids the strike, but Tessara takes another 4 damage

[ooc]Coty is unarmed, so does not threaten surrounding squares or count for flanking. Also, Siril's attack bonus with the small dagger would be +1, not +2 (BAB+StrMod-2)[/ooc]

Tessara and Coty both aim unarmed strikes at their respective rats. The rats react by biting back. Tessara strikes her rat, but takes 2 points of damage from the bite. Coty misses his rat, but is bitten for 3 points of damage.
Siril steps behind the rat and swings the dagger he holds, but the nimble little creature twists out of the way of the blow.

Axel steps up and begins rifling the body of the elf guard, pulling something out of the guard's belt pouch.

Morck, meanwhile, steps forward and kicks the rat in the head, knocking it unconscious.

The remaining rat tries to bite Coty again, but misses.

If the rat is gone he will start to look through the gear.

Tessara moves over to the guard and looks him over. Besides his clothing and boots, she sees a small pouch on his belt.

Coty watches the rat warily, ready to dodge a blow at a moments notice. He yells out for assistance dealing with the remaining rat.

Siril responds to Coty's request by stabbing the rat. The rat is badly injured and its focus is now on Siril.
