Re: Jailbreak!
If the door being closed does not help with the switch, Siril shrugs, reopens the door, and resumes searching the room with whatever light is available.

Re: Jailbreak!
Moe also resumes searching the room with what light that is available.

Re: Jailbreak!
Moe reassembles the clock, barely...though he is unable to set it back to the exact time as he doesn't know what the exact time is now. The rest of you reset the room and close the door. This does not affect the stone in the wall.
You reopen the door and regather the items you had picked up. Coty offeres to try to identify the items that Morck has not and moves into the light coming through th door to do so.
Siril and Moe try to search the sections of the room that they had not earlier, but the light coming in from the hallway does not provide sufficient illumination for them to truly see. Only Morck and Brak can clearly see in the darkened areas.

No tindertwigs, no flint and steel, so not really. You could probably manage about 5 more minutes from the torch if you could light it.[/ooc]ElectroZman wrote:Nothing in here to make fire with? Plenty of combustibles.

Re: Jailbreak!
[talk]If someone would hand me the touch I'll try to light it...[/talk] assuming someone hands Moe the touch, he places the tourch on the bench. Pulling out the dagger, he starts scraping on his cloak until he has a ball of fuzz almost the size of his fist. Once done with that task he then turns his attention to the bench, carving out paper thin slices of wood. From this he makes needle thin shavings, placing them in his ball of fuzz. Placing his fuzz ball on the head of the touch, he takes out his shortsword. Placing the business end of the sword into the bench next to the touch head with his ball of fuzz, he will start striking the short sword with his dagger, trying to make a spark to ignite the touch. Moe will ask SIril to give it a go if he fails...
[ooc]do you require a roll...? If so... or would that be an attack on the sword with the dagger...[/ooc]

Siril hands Moe the torch and looks on. If he's unsuccessful, he'll definitely give it a try.

Moe tries for a while to get a spark using his weapons, but only manages a couple sparks. You really wish you had a flint on hand.
Siril takes the torch and gives it a try. After a few attempts, he finally able to get some sparks, but it takes almost 10 minutes to get one to finally catch enough to light the torch. You have about 5 minutes before the torch stump will burn out.

Considering the limited time frame on the torch light, everyone may want to be a little more specific on what they are doing, which area/items are you searching, etc.ElectroZman wrote:We search.

Siril says [talk]We're looking for another trigger. Perhaps one of the sconces. I think one wasn't lit when we first came in. Or maybe a loose stone someplace. Would one of you find something else to burn? Brak, maybe some dry cloth wrapped around a chair leg?[/talk]
Siril focuses on the torch holder/sconces. If he sees nothing then he uses whatever time is left to search what ever "sections of the room that [were] not earlier" for other loose stones. As the torch starts to gutter, he looks for something else to burn as an improvised torch. Paper if necessary to keep it going even a little.
Looking back over the last few pages of this PbP, its not at all clear what sections were searched and which were not - aside from the bookshelf.[/ooc]Cain Eyebright wrote:...

Re: Jailbreak!
[talk]I'll search from the corner (-O2) working to the right around the room. I suggest the we skip over areas were light comes in throught the door and of course were we have already seached. I will focus on where Morck said he heard sound coming from, and the sconces looking for movement of the touches that may be a trigger, and other lose stones .[/talk] Moe ask Morck if he can pin point the location of the sound, and to describe it if he can,

Here is what I have:
DM: Is there anything else I can provide? The watches pass mostly uneventfully. Morck thinks he hears something from the direction of the wall with the bookshelf at one point, but only the once and it doesn't repeat.
Re: Jailbreak!
Coty looks under the desk, legs of the desk, under the desk, asking the lower part of the wall. He will have Linkie smell about and see if he can find anything.

Re: Jailbreak!
Coty starts searching the desk. He notes the stack of parchments that Morck had found earlier before bending down to look under the desk. He notices another scroll just sticking out from under the right side of the desk.
Morck ponders the sound he heard during the night, but is unsure how to describe what he heard clearly.
Meanwhile, Moe and Siril both start searching in the upper right corner of the room, Siril paying particular attention to the touch sconce. He tries pulling on it, but it is anchored to the wall and only moves slightly where it appears the top anchor bolt is broken. He is about to step away when Moe points out a small curving scratch on the sone next to the sconce, which lines up with the broken bolt. Siril tries twisting the sconce to the right and it moves about 45 degrees. As it turns, Morck hears the sound of stone moving on stone and turns to look at the wall. The block you noted earlier juts out slightly from the other stones.
Brak twists a leg off of the chair in the corner, and wraps a strip of his prison shirt around the top, fashioning an improptu torch. You are just able to get it lit, before the torch in Siril's hand burns out.
Axel begins wrenching out the other chair legs.

Re: Jailbreak!
Siril breathes a sigh of relief. He's more than ready to move on.
While everyone gets set, he'll take the quill and parchment off the desk. He'll roll the quill up inside the parchment tuck it into his belt.
If there is a way to carry the ink without it spilling, he'll take that too.
THINKING: Must remember to pick up a belt pouch the next time I can.
Then he positions himself near the bookshelf, Long sword ready.

[talk]The book case must be a door. Let me check it out quickly before our torch goes out again...[/talk] Moe examines in and around the book case looking for scratches on the floor or wall that would indicate which way it would move, at the same time looking for any possible trap.

Convinced that the book case is a door, Moe tries to move it, as if it were a door or slide it to the left.

[ooc]Coty's identifications (Only listing the ones Morck did not successfully identify. Also, Coty can determine the school as he doesn't have the correct skill):

Larger Vial (Colorless, Odorless) - Holy Water
Larger Vial (Colorless, Odorless) - Holy Water
Clock Gear - Gear of Perpetual Motion (Mage Hand)

Re: Jailbreak!
Moe checks the stone. It doesn't appear to be trapped, and it seems to be fairly firmly set, with only a little wiggle room to the sides. Trying to pull it out further shows that something is keeping it from moving that way. He believes that it should push back in with little effort though.
Re: Jailbreak!
Since I don't think anyone examined the scroll on the floor - Morck will.

[talk]When your all ready, I'm going to push on this stone. I'm not sure what will happen[/talk] Moe waits till the others indicate they are ready before pushing on the stone...

It appears to be another spell scroll. Using read magic again, you see that it contains 4 copies of the spell light and one copy of identify.admin wrote:Since I don't think anyone examined the scroll on the floor - Morck will.
Re: Jailbreak!
[talk]Guys, this scroll has 4 copies of the Light spell .. which I can cast should we need more light[/talk] Morck says.
Morck will then cast the Identify spell to help identify the Wand he has.
Please roll for Morck if any rolls are required (this will avoid additional messages) - Query: Can Coty help by providing a synergy bonus to the identification, as per the 'Aid Another' rule?? If so, that should be what we do if Coty does not mind!
