Round 5

Worrel fails to avoid the washes of flame from the spells cast by the robed figures [20 hp damage applied]. Still, he makes a short step and tries to dispatch one of the casters. Worrel's attack ends with the foe's body so torn apart that it looks as if it had been raked over by some ravenous beast [9 hp damage kills C1].

Cyrius manages to evade the full brunt of the burning hands spell [4 hp damage applied]. With his planned target (C1) dispatched, he moves around the corner to confront C4. Although moving the additional distance means he doesn't have time to charge his mind blade with psychic energy, Cyrius is still able to perform an agile maneuver that places him in the perfect position to perform an execution [7 hp damage kills C4; took the liberty with your action here. Let me know if this isn't what Cyrius would have done].

Seeing the masked figure, Marcus summons a pit beneath the Faceless One's (F1) feet. The masked man plummets to the bottom of the pit [7 hp damage, 2 of which are nonlethal].

Avoiding one of the grabby pillars, Lola moves north. With F1 now out of sight at the bottom of a pit, she brings down her lightning on C2. Crackling loudly towards its target, the bolt silences the enemy [11 hp damage kills C2].

As the crocodile clings to Tex, it tucks in its legs and rolls rapidly, twisting and wrenching the dwarf. This energetic burst of movement overwhelms Tex's defenses [9 hp damage and Tex is prone].

From the bottom of the pit comes the sound of a spell being cast. Although no results are obvious, it is apparent that the fall didn't finish the Faceless One.

The remaining robed man (C3) steps back into the doorway, retrieves a scroll, and reads it. A beam of fire hisses through the air like a snake, striking into Worrel's mid-section [14 hp damage].

With a burst of effort, Tex manages to get free from the crocodile's jaws, finding himself prone in front of it. Nevertheless, he drops his bow and draws his axe, hoping to fight the thing off from the ground.

No problem, it was the logical contingency. Speaking of which...

 

Acting on a hunch (or "an 'unch", as they say on the mythical isle of Albion), Cyrius moves tp 1402 and through the open door in the west wall. If the corridor leads to 1102, as he is gambling, he will move there and attack C3 (who will get an attack of opportunity if he's armed, but what damage can a mere spellcaster do in an AoO?)

If there is another foe between 1402 and 1102, Cyrius will move to engage that opponent.

If there is a closed door between 1402 and 1102, he will move to it and open it, which will probably end his move (or if he can continue to 1102, he won't be able to attack, but will still move so, with the AoO).

If there appears to be no route from 1402 to 1102, he will retrace his steps, then move to 1104, still unable to attack, but engaging C3 (and making a Reflex save vs the flaming sphere.

Marcus will retrieve his stash of alchemists fire. He'll move to 0504 and from there begin tossing them into the pit until he runs out or the pit spell runs out.

Round 6

Worrel prays to Mitra for aid during this fight for himself and his companions [see below for Bless effects]. Once the spell takes effect, he moves towards the summoned crocodile.

Acting on a hunch, Cyrius moves up the wide corridor and through the open door in the west wall. Cyrius' hunch proves correct and he moves in behind C3. The robed man makes a desperate, hopeless slash with his dagger as Cyrius approaches [miss]. Undeterred, Cyrius attacks, but finds the man's magical protections too strong [also a miss].

Marcus retrieves a flask of alchemists fire and moves toward the pit. The crocodile, however, has no interest in letting him pass [attack of opportunity as Marcus tries to leave 0704 in the direction of 0504]. The creature's heavy jaws slam home, goring deep into Marcus' flesh [11 hp damage and Marcus is grappled].

Lola calls down lightning on the crocodile. Even though occupied as it is with Marcus, the beast manages to twist away from the worst of the bolt [save made, 3 hp damage].

OUT OF CHARACTER
Marcus has a standard action left and, at this point, I need to know what he does before the crocodile and the rest of the enemies can act.

Things Marcus could do include: try to break free (CMB check vs. CMD 18), throw the alchemist's fire at the croc or into the pit (attack roll at -4), cast a spell (concentration check vs DC28+spell level).

I am absolultely beside myself. Cannot believe i forgot how much space the croc took up... i have to think.

EDIT: Hope I can do this. Using ray attack. Want to use scortching ray or burning hands, but both require somatic spell component which cannot be used while grappled. Hopefully a ray attack might be enough if his concentration check works.

 

Marcus hopes a sudden shock will losen the crocs grip.

Marcus hopes a sudden shock will loosen the croc's grip. He manages to maintain enough composure to cast an elemental ray, but the wrenching grasp of the croc's jaw's spoils his aim [concentration succeeds, ranged touch attack misses].

The crocodile executes a "death roll," flipping its victim over and biting down hard [7 hp damage and Marcus is prone].

There's no sound from the bottom of the pit, so no one can be sure what the Faceless One is doing.

C3 casts defensively and unleashes a sheet of blinding color at Cyrius [needs DC15 Will save to avoid being stunned for one round].

With the crocodile's attention on Marcus, Tex takes the opportunity to stand up. Then he hacks at the beast with his axe, but the wily creature avoids his swing [miss].

Round 7

Worrel steps close and swings his sword at the summoned crocodile, sacrificing some accuracy in order to hit the monster with more force. The sharp edge of his weapon leaves a neat slice flayed from the beast [16 hp damage]

Cyrius stands still, stunned by the blinding lights.

Marcus takes one for the team and smashes the alchemist's fire against the crocs head. Both he and the creature burst into flames. The sacrifice proves worthwhile, though, as the creature disappears from existence [6 hp damage each and the crocodile is unsummoned; Marcus is on fire]

With the crocodile gone, Lola moves to where she can see the last remaining robed man and blasts him with lightning. The bolt whistles through the air before arcing through its target with a macabre ZZZAP [12 hp damage, but the man somehow remains standing].

There's still no sound from the bottom of the pit, so no one can be sure what the Faceless One is doing.

Nearly cooked by the lightning, C3 still manages to cast a final spell at Cyrius. As the sheet of flames bursts from his hands, he collapses to the ground, dead [Cyrius takes 5 hp fire damage, Reflex DC15 for half].

Tex picks up his bow and sheathes his axe. Think that wizard is coming back, or are we done here?

Marcus will roll on the floor (full round) attempting to extinguish the flames. Once extinguished he will crawl to the pit (move), close enough to see the man, and throw (standard) the alchemist fire at him.

Fortune favors Cyrius as his reflexes throw him out of the worst of the fiery spell, taking only 2 hp of damage.

Addendum: He then ventures to 0902, and possibly further depending on what he sees in the next room.
