And rolled a 10 to hit (sorry ROLZ is still not working, but it is in the log). Rolled an 8 damage if the 10 hits.

Fluffy is healed from a potion [7 hp brings Fluffy to max]

At the count of 3, Worrel slashes at the egg with his longsword, lopping the top right off of it. Immediately, a swarm of tiny green worms comes spilling out.

Prost, Tex, and Lola fire their missile weapons at the swarm, which is quite easy to hit, but the projectiles do no significant damage due to the sheer number of worms.

Hishka cries out, Oh no, isss the wormsss! We knew the Black-Ssscaled Queen wasss lying about hoomansss being resssponsssible! Now we sssee ssshe wasss behind the wormsss all along...

The swarm of worms spreads out, moving slowly toward the pool of eggs as if motivated by some kind of rudimentary intelligence. Some of them crawl up Worrel's legs, but are unable to penetrate his armor (see picture below from the module, which is coincidentally quite accurate).

ACTIVE EFFECTS
The swarm is the green square on the map

ROUND 1:
1. Evan Prost: unloaded slingstaff readied, 2 +1 bullets and 49 normal bullets left, darkvision 173.7 minutes left, water breathing ~10 hours left, 14 hp damage

2. Fluffy: uninjured

3. Cyrius of the Sudden Blade: charged mind blade longsword and sunrod readied, 17 bolts left, 4 hp damage

4. Worrel: longsword and shield readied, 0 arrows left, 0 lay on hands left, 1 smite evil left, wand of CLW 21 charges left, 6 hp damage

5. Lola: unloaded crossbow readied, 44 bolts left, light cast on a bolt at 1108, 8 hp damage

6. Texudus TreeBender: bow readied, 34 arrows left, 4 hp damage

7. Lizardfolk: uninjured

8. Hishka: uninjured

9. Viper: uninjured

10. Swarm of Worms: uninjured

Worrel swings his sword at the worms since that is what he has to hand. Then he backs away, in case someone does cast an area spell at the worms.

Yikes! Worms...Seeing the swarming worms, Prost drops his sling staff, retrieves a vile of Alchemist's Fire, and flings it at the closest swarm (@2807)

As Lola switches from crossbow to short sword+1 she casts summon monster I and calls forth a celestial owl. She will command the owl to go after the worms.

Yikes! Worms... Seeing the swarming worms, Prost drops his sling staff, retrieves a vial of Alchemist's Fire, and flings it at the closest part of the swarm. The vial bursts into flames and the worms ignite more readily than one might expect from their slimy appearance [7 hp damage]. However, flaming worm bits also splash onto Prost, Fluffy, and Worrel [1 hp damage each]

Fluffy, following his previous instructions, tries to bite some worms, with no effect.

They must be cleansed with fire! shouts Cyrius as he pulls out his own vial of alchemical fire and throws it into the swarm. Again, the worms are quite flammable [9 hp damage], but Cyrius and Worrel receive a bit of splash damage [1 hp damage each]

Worrel swings his sword at the worms since that is what he has to hand. Even his mightiest swing has no discernible effect on the multitude of tiny worms. Worrel backs away, just moments too late to avoid getting slightly splashed, though.

Seeing his arrows have no effect, Tex steps forward, drops his bow, pulls out his axe, and swings at the swarming worms. His strike does nothing noticeable.

Lola switches from crossbow to short sword (two move actions, so she can't begin casting yet. But as you'll see, that doesn't matter).

The worms slowly squirm towards the pool of eggs. They are not intelligent enough to do anything about the ongoing flames, so the continuing effects of the alchemist's fire burns the entire remaining swarm to a crisp [8 hp damage eliminates the swarm]

Hishka exclaims, Yesss, yesss. We were right to missstrussst the Black-Ssscaled Queen! Her own egg bringsss the wormsss, not the hoomansss! We owe you a debt, hoomansss, for you have sssaved our eggsss from the infection of the wormsss!

OUT OF CHARACTER
Combat ends. With a big XP award because you prevented any loss of lizardfolk eggs.

At this point, if you have other business you want to conduct with Hishka or here in the lizard lair in general, let me know. But otherwise, the shaman is happy to release the prisoners to you and you can make your way through the Calenvicar Swamp back to Shadow Castle Keep

Lola is glad to save the spell for later use. She packs up all her gear and is ready to leave this place, hopefully for good.

"All of us could use some healing," says Worrel. "I think that we have defeated something with the potential for great evil. We need to report this. And, I should pary to Mitra for guidance on how to proceed."

Lola says I can do some healing if we need it before we go on, just let me know who needs it most as I don't have a lot left for the day.

The safest place to rest will be right here in the lizard lair. If more healing is needed than what the party has in leftover spells, the Shaman will be happy to provide it, in thanks for your assistance with the eggs. The lizards also will not object to you taking any of the loot you recovered in the lair.

Furthermore, after adding up XP, it's time to LEVEL UP!

XP totals are in this post, along with links to your individual character sheet threads. Please use those individual threads to post your updated sheets, ask questions about leveling up, etc.

In the meantime, I'll work on updating the loot list in the thread above and maybe post some interlude stuff here. The prisoners might be ready for some interaction. This module (#3 of 12 in the adventure path) is not quite over yet, but you're getting close...

The party gathers their loot into a big pile in the northwest part of the lair, near the entrance, and prepares to rest. Although the remaining lizardfolk seem friendly, they take no chances and establish a watch schedule.

Before resting, Tex is able to recover 6 arrows from the egg chamber (pretty darn good, that's 6 of 7 surviving arrows).

Worrel examines the ring and six potions from the egg chamber and is able to detect a faint aura of evil from each of the potions.
