[ooc]For Tex: just so we''re clear, the noise was to the south of you, toward the bottom of the map, which is the opposite direction from which you moved. Not that it's unreasonable to move away from the noise...

For Worrel and Prost: let me know if you cannot see the spoilers and I will PM you the information.[/ooc]

Dismissing his mind blade to have both hands free, Cyrius attempts to scale the cliff before him. If successful, and if he still has a move action left, he will re-materialize the weapon in longsword form.

Climb check: 1d20+9

And... he's not successful. :?

Prost hears a noise to the north that is moving away toward the base of the cliff. As he calls out...[talk]Something is moving towards the cliff[/talk]...he takes a five foot step into 1832, wear he scoops up a hand-full dirt and rocks from the floor, and flings it into the adjacent square at 1731, hoping to discover something...

Round 8 Continues

Worrel turns around to move back along the rock face, spreading his arms holding the sword and shield in an effort to detect any hidden or invisible creature. He does not encounter anything, though he remains ready to attack, should something appear...

Dismissing his mind blade to have both hands free, Cyrius attempts to scale the cliff before him. Unfortunately, he makes no progress.

Lola moves up to the edge of the cliff with her crossbow ready.

Marcus remains some distance back in the corridor, ready with his crossbow.

Round 9 Begins

Something at the base of the cliff! Tex calls out as he moves north along the cliff edge. He keeps a close eye on the base of the cliff, but sees nothing.

Also hearing a noise, Prost calls out, Something is moving towards the cliff” He takes a step forward, scoops up a hand-full dirt and rocks from the floor, and flings it towards the base of the cliff. The rocks and dirt bounce off of something invisible before reaching the cliff itself! The unseen thing appears to be moving though, and nothing sticks, so whether it remains where Prost threw his dirt or not is uncertain.

Everyone, even including the distant Marcus, hears a scuffling sound from somewhere at the base of the cliff... the exact location is difficult to pinpoint, but it might be near where Prost threw his rocks. [The location shown by the red I! on the map]
ACTIVE EFFECTS
The purple dashed lines on the map represent sharp 10 foot cliffs. If you were to leap off a cliff, you could make a DC15 Jump or Tumble check to land on your feet and take no damage. Ascending a cliff would require a DC15 Climb check.

Round 9 Continues
Worrel: sword and shield readied, 42 arrows left, 0 lay on hands left, 8 hp damage
Cyrius of the Sudden Blade: mind blade longsword readied, crossbow dropped at 0829, sunrod tucked in boot, 13 bolts left, 9 hp damage
Lola: loaded heavy crossbow readied, wand of CLW 14 charges left (stowed), 28 bolts left, 0 channel energy, 5 storm burst left, only domain spells left, 3 hp damage
Marcus Tilsworth: loaded crossbow readied, 2 elemental rays left, 18 bolts left, 13 hp damage
Round 10 Begins
Texudus TreeBender: longbow readied, 46 arrows left, 12 hp damage
Evan Prost: loaded slingstaff readied, 14 regular bullets left, ZERO (0) bolts left, darkvision 155.6 min, uninjured

Round 9 Continues

Discardng subtlety, Worrel moves towards where Prost found the invisible creature. Once he is close, the paladin swings his sword through the spot. He finds nothing but air.

Hearing the commotion, Cyrius abandons his attempt at scaling the shadowed cliff, materializes his mind blade in its longsword form, and moves along the cavern wall toward the suspicious location.

Lola kicks rocks and pebbles from the top of the cliff down on the location. Some of the rocks and pebbles bounce off somethinging, suggesting that what Prost revealed before is still there!

Marcus remains some distance back in the corridor, ready with his crossbow.

Round 10 Begins

Tex lets loose at that location, but gets no answer to the question of what happens to an arrow that hits an invisible creature, since his arrow hits nothing but floor.

Given the hint from Lola's stones, Prost looses a bullet which manages to find its invisible target. Prost draws first blood on the elusive creature [4 hp damage]!

The party hears footsteps as the invisible Grallak Kur moves out of the spot where he was located. This sound is followed by evil chanting and an ear-piercing cacophony. Worrel, Prost, and Cyrius are caught in the radius of the sound burst [Each takes 5 hp damage and must make a DC 16 Fort save or be stunned for one round]. Finally, Grallak Kur appears, somewhat south of where he was previously found, his back to the corner of the cliff, wielding a wicked-looking stone battleaxe.

Round 10 Continues

Worrel withstands the spell and steps closer to the grimlock sorcerer cleric, holding his emblazoned shield up and swinging his sword. The paladin doesn't put all of his effort into the swing, thinking that the opponent has some magical defenses in place. He is correct and discovers that even his precisely placed swing fails to connect!

Shrugging off some of the spell's effect, Cyrius steps up and swings at the grimlock leader. He manages to penetrate Grallak Kur's defenses [11 hp damage]

Lola shoots her crossbow, but the difficulty of firing into melee makes her miss.

Marcus advances to enter the cavern, stopping at the ledge.

Round 11 Begins

Tex readies an action for Grallak Kur to begin casting a spell, trying to disrupt.

Prost finds himself briefly stunned by Grallak Kur's last spell. Unable to maintain his hold on his slingstaff, he drop the weapon at his feet.

With a feral growl, Grallak Kur lashes out with his axe at the incapacitated Prost. Even though Prost is hardly able to defend himself, Grallak's swing is wild and misses [rolled a 1]

In game terms, there's one square between the top of the ledge and the top of his head. So someone on the ledge would not be adjacent and would require a melee weapon with reach or a ranged weapon to attack him. He is not wearing a helm.
