Rain runs and dives towards KickMe, drawing his other blade in mid air. If the oppertunity is there, he will attempt to slash at KickMe and tumble safely to 0908.

Correct, but casting Sanctuary will provoke an attack of opportunity unless you 5' adjust one direction or the other.

Sorry it took me so long. I lent my Sp Comp. to a friend. I just got it back. According to the spell, it is a ranged attack, not a ranged touch attack.

 

Rain tumbles past Khkhlkhd, stabbing him as he moves. Unfortunately, his short sword does not puncture the creature's tough skin (not enough damage to break DR).

THINKING: Rain, I'm sorry, but as Tiberious's silver weapon struck the creature, I recognized the reaction of a devil. They are immune to fire attacks. Unfortunately, I specialized in fire attacks, so my abilities will be of no use in this battle. I can create a slippery area on the floor, but other than that, you are on your own to defeat this foe.

Kirre fires two blasts of splinters at Khkhlkhd. Both blasts bounce harmlessly off Khkhlkhd's armor.

Jear adjusts, gaining the flank. Khkhlkhd is unprepared for the thinblade in his back [sneak attack].

Tiberious steps back and casts Sanctuary on himself.

Khkhlkhd steps back and slashes at Jear's weapon, trying to destroy it. It, too, falls to the ground in a heap. Next, Khkhlkhd aims for Jear himself. Unlike his previous attempts to strike a foe, this time, his aim is true, and Jear falls in a bloody pile from the massive swing [38 hp damage].

Kirre watches Jear fall, furious with himself for allowing Khkhlkhd to get ahold of that accursed weapon. His primal instincts take over, and he steps up and attacks the sickeningly evil creature.

Moves to 0907 and attempt to grapple the bastard.

Rain, seeing Jear tumble to the ground, attempts a stunt.

THINKING: I really hope this works!

He lunges, both blades in a reverse grip, and stabs viciously from above, trying to dig his blades deep into Khkhlkhd. Provided he is successful, he'll attempt to use the momentum from the lunge to swing himself onto khkhlkhd's back and twist and rend with his blades.

Ultimately, I guess it would be a modified grapple. The initial attacks, plus trying to stay gripped on.
APs on both attacks, plus the jump/balance checks to stay on Khkhlkhd's back and wreak havoc on his body.

Tiberious will remain in sanctuary for this roundbut he will make a concentration check to heal Jear without an AoO, swapping Aid(Mass) for Cure Critical Wounds

As Rain tumbles over Khkhlkhd, the movement is just right for the devil to release one hand from the glaive and make a clawing motion at Rain. His aim is horrible!

Rain completes his maneuver, driving one sword into Khkhlkhd's shoulder, but the other blade cannot penetrade the devil's skin. Rain finds himself off balance, and slams into the wall, but he manages to grab a hold of Khkhlkhd in the process, and is now engaged in a grapple. From his new position, he can feel tremendous strength that was hidden by the creature's clothing. This old man has the strength of 10 men!

Kirre rushes in and joins the grapple, Khkhlkhd's attack of opportunity already expended on the tumbling Rain. Khkhlkhd nearly manages to throw off the shifter, but with Rain on his back, his attempt fails (the AP caused the success of that grapple!)

Jear's wound spurts blood. Something is wrong! That much blood is not supposed to come out, even from a grievous wound! [2 hp damage]

Tiberious does not need to concentrate, as Khkhlkhd is now quite occupied with two attackers grappling him. He bends down and invokes the power of Olladra, drawing curative energies into Jear's wound. At first, the wound seems resistant, but with the might of Olladra (DC 19 caster level check, rolled 15, AP 4) overcame the infernal wound! [35 hp healed, no additional bleeding]

Khkhlkhd's glaive disappears, freeing up his hands. Rather than try to escape the grapple, he uses it to his advantage. He reaches around to where Rain is holding on and pulls him around to his front. He then slashes Rain with his claw. [13 hp damage] Rain is unable to keep his blade in the creature, but he is still holding it! Next, the devil tries to bite Kirre, but can't quite reach a fleshy part.

Attempts grabs hold of Khkhlkhd to hold him still, so he can be finished off... if the pin fails he'll follow up with a claw and a bite. After everything it ends here...

Grapple check to pin Khkhlkhd (1d20+13=20)
Action point to pin (1d6+20=26)
If the pin attempt fails, Claw/Bite attack in grapple (w/-4 attack) (1d20+9=28, 1d20+4=18)
dmg 1d4+9, 1d6+5 (1d4+9=13, 1d6+5=8)

I see this as Khkhlkd holding Rain up by the scruff of his neck like one would hold a kitten. The fiendish bastard is strong, so I see it as him holding him with one hand, his feet dangling above the floor.

 

He feints with the arm opposite the one Khkhlkd is using to hold him (so if K has him by the right arm, he is fainting towards K's left), flips the other sword into a regular grip, and thrusts it upward, aiming for the soft spot under the jaw. (Think in the Punisher movie where Castle sticks the knife up through the guys jaw and into the roof of his mouth.)

I am going to use this round to Aid Rain in his attack.

I need to make a successful attack roll against AC 10. If successful it will add +2 to Rain's attack roll.

Attack +6


pg 10 of the Rules Compendium.

And there is this tidbit as well if you feel so inclined.
OUT OF CHARACTER
If you have 5 or more ranks in a skill you’re using to aid another,
you can grant a higher bonus. For every 10 points your check
result exceeds 10, the circumstance bonus increases by 1. To
determine the circumstance bonus quickly, simply divide the
helper’s check result by 10, round down, and add 1.
At the DM’s option, this rule can also be extended to using
the aid another action in combat to improve an ally’s attack
roll or AC. Any character who has a base attack bonus of +5
or higher can grant a greater bonus on an ally’s attack roll or
AC as described above.

Rain attempts to feint Khkhlkhd, but the devil sees through the deception. Still, Rain's blade slices Khkhlkhd's cheek, dealing a little damage [3 hp actually dealt].

Kirre tries to pin Khkhlkhd down to finish him off, but the muscular devil proves too much for Kirre. Kirre's claw, however, slices into Khkhlkhd's leathery flesh, but he is unable to sink his teeth into the devil.

Jear stands up and finds a broken shard of his old sword. It is sharp, and wielding it will deal damage unless he can wrap cloth around it (1 hp damage, Fort save DC 10 or drop the shard). [Unfortunately he doesn't have enough time to attack this round].

Tiberious steps in to the fray and tries to aid in Rain's attempts to attack, distracting Khkhlkhd at just the right time!

Khkhlkhd, for his part, seems thrilled with Rain for his attempts at fighting him! The devil squeezes his claws into Rain's back [13 hp damage and 12 hp damage] and brings him into a bear hug [9 hp damage]. Rain falls unconscious and is dropped to the ground, Khkhlkhd's attention turned to Kirre. He attempts to pin Kirre! (Monkey, I'll need a grapple check from you. Also, for next round, I need two sets of actions: What you will do if Kirre resists the pin and what you will do if he fails to resist the pin.)

(Map same as above, only Tiberious has moved to 0807)

Kirre snarls with rage, at the attempt to pin him. (Most likely resisting the pin).

Grapple check to resist being pinned. (1d20+13=33)

He then turns his rage against Khkhlkhd in full force. Making three attempts to pin the evil abomination.

Grapple checks to pin Khkhlkhd. (1d20+13=23, 1d20+13=24, 1d20+13=26)

If the first two don't succeed then he'll apply an action point to the last one:

Action point to third grapple if necessary. (1d6+26=32, 1d6+26=29, 1d6+26=31)

I forgot to remove the "3" from the number of rolls, but the 32 is the first result that came up.

 

If successful he growls, Cut the demon's head off and let us be done with him! I can't stand his stench any longer!

Tiberious will step up and heal Rain using Cure Serious Wounds taking any AoO's as they come.

If I can I would like to add an AP to my concentration check.

Guys, my training is telling me that he is hurt, it should not be much more until he falls. I will keep you up as best I can but I fear that my weapons and attack spells will be wasted on him.

Provided Rain is healed and, with Khkhklkhd being distracted by Rain's comrades, he will attempt another dual sneak attack. After all, when you're opponent is dead, or you think he is, you don't expect him to stab you in the infernal balls.

Kirre failed the grapple check to resist the pin (Khkhlkhd got a 34--very close!!!). [12 damage]

Also, Kirre's third grapple check would be made with a -5 penalty (as it would be his bite attack, which is a secondary natural weapon, much as Khkhlkhd's pin attempt was made with his secondary natural weapon).

Do I have to break Khkhlkhd's pin before I try to pin him?

Yes, while pinned, you are no longer considered grappling, so your only possible action involving a grapple check is to escape the pin.

Kirre attempts to escape Khkhlkhd's pin, but the devil has him locked down tight!

Jear attacks with the silver shard, but can't seem to push it through the devil's hide (missed his flat-footed AC). He manages to hold on to the shard, even though it cuts into his hand.

Tiberious bends down and heals Rain (Khkhlkhd is still considered grappling, so he cannot take an attack of opportunity) [13 hp healed].

Khkhlkhd tries to take advantage of Kirre's vulnerable position and end him. With both of his claws and his special crush attack (which Kirre finally noticed is actually his beard wrapping around his neck), he nearly kills Kirre [28 hp damage].

Rain grabs his blades and thrusts with all his might at the devil. Khkhlkhd sputters in pain, but through his infernal will, he is still fighting!

Rain, angrier than Dal Quor wrapped in a neat Xoriat packaging, stabs at Khkhlkhd again, with both blades.

Kirre's eye's get wide as he can feel his strength waning, and his life dimming. Continuing to struggle against Khkhlkhd...

Grapple attempts to break the pin (1d20 13=17, 1d20 13=22, 1d20 8=21)
if the first fails, action point to the second, and summoning the last of his failing strength commits everything he has to his final attempt to break Khkhlkhd's pin... another action point or two or three
action point (1d6 22=24)
last time: action point (1d6 21=25)

but his efforts seem futile as Khkhlkhd is crushing the life from him. (if one of the grapple attempts break the pin, the remaining rolls, if any, can be used as attacks since they have the same modifier as a grapple attempt)
