Description of Actions
Since I began gaming, my DMs have always said that it is the job of the players to describe their actions. If an attack succeeds, every player would go back and describe what exactly happened when it succeeded. If it failed, they would describe the failure. In a PbP game, I suppose that is a little more complicated. I haven't really been thinking about it. I am not sure if it falls to the DM to describe the result of the die roll, or if I should expect players to retroactively describe their results. What does everyone else think?
Re: Description of Actions
my experience has been mostly the opposite. the dm interpertes the action and describes it.
But i can be down with either.

Re: Description of Actions
With the inclusion of Invisiblecastle.com players can have a little more control over describing their actions, for example we'll know in advance if we threaten a crit or if a 16 hit last time it will most likely hit again this round. I will try to describe the attack in ambiguous terms that will allow for either a miss or hit. This also leaves the DM room to add any extra details such as a potential kill, cleave and so forth.

Yeah, invisible castle is pretty nice. I'm trying to get into the habit of using it in Shai's games.
Monkey, are you going to use it in your game?

Yeah, anyone who wants to use it is more than welcome to. I'll post there.
