Phantom casts Detect Magic, checking for magical auras. Now that the box has been killed, only the faint aura of Transmutation remains, but the items within are nonmagical. A quick appraisal, Phantom figures they are nice enough baubles that they would likely fetch a good price in a human store. Perhaps they were not animated because they were inside the box, and much like the box beneath the soil, unless an object came into direct contact with the living spell that is now on the loose, it would not animate.

After/if Phantom tests the jewelry, Nine will look to everyone...

Ok, we ready? Lets get back in there.

Nine will head back around to the front, keep a distance of 25 feet from the tower, at least until he has a good view of teh front door.

Anyone know where this Tower is in relation to the Undead issues? I wonder if this living spell can reanimate the dead as it does objects? Though i would imagine that bodies are buried like the other box was.

Knowing little about what happened to you last time you went into that acursed tower... do you think it wise to go back in... What if our weapons animate and attack us... among other things? I just wanted to throw that out there for consideration... humans and elves and the others and their uncontroled, wreckless magics!! Verbal keeps talking but mostly repeating the same thing in different iterations.

Of course it is not wise. Why would it be? There are traps therein and we might be damaged beyond repair..! You don't have to enter if you fear for your components...but we would be happy to have you. Mecano says.

But we believe that what is inside might be well worth it - Nine really needs a spell book, and what a better place to find one than here!! I am out of scrolls, so I'd like to make some here. We could also find useful magical items that could help us in our mission to Sharn. Finally, this could also be Key to finding why Undeads are prowling the region - We did promise to look into it for the humans... and they trusted us enough to try to do just that... Mecano concludes.

I was unaware that you were a magician, I appologize... I am very interested to find out more about the tower. Would someone mind giving me a quick explanation of what happended in the tower the first time you went in? So that I know what to look for.

It's ok, i've been without a spell book since we left. I've been able to rely on my limit skill with the sword thus far, but i feel like half the Warforged i used to be.

The tower seems to be enchanted with heavy illusions. and, at least on the first floor, there is a secret crumbleing wall that reveals a summoning trap. and will summon critters to attack us. I need to get in there and disable that trap, and any others like it as we go. I think that I will try to disable the wall trap first, then it might be possible to disable the summoning trap with triggering it. especially now that the carpet isnt flying through the threshold.

If that doesnt work, then we'll set of the wall trap, and draw the critter out in the main room where i can gett around it and into the trap room to disable further summons.

We can also try to move in using the back door, which is mentionned in the book. We would just need to locate it....!

Well, that's a thought. Where was it that the ghost was appearing, maybe there?

Nine takes a look at teh wall there, and takes a few steps that direction, looking at the others for confirmation.

then takes a closer look.

Search (1d20+8=14)

I dont think i see anything, someone else take a look...

Mecano repairs himself for 6 hp (back to full) and Phantom for 4 hp (still missing 2 hp).

Eventually, Nine and Phantom locate a secret door in the back of the tower. Unfortunately, it is magically locked. So, back to the front of the tower, or bust down the door?

I dont know, but knowing what we know about the rest of this tower, i would be hesitant to do that. could be a trap on the other side that we cant see. Now, i think it would be better to start on the path we know. The Front Door.

I agree completely. I imagine blasting away at a door, that's magically sealed and has a living spell running rampant creating traps and summoning creatures, would be a dangerous use of resources. Does anyone care to conjecture or theorize as to whether a broken object can be animated... if it's possible, an object broken in two, could result in each half animating creating double, though hopefully less effective, enemies. Again Verbal continues talking long after anyone has cared to listen, being that he is mostly reiterating the same concern in various permutations.

Nine listens to Verbal, but about halfway throu, he tilts his head a bit and looks at Phantom and Mecano quizically, shurgs his uneven shoudlers and turns to walk around to the front door.

Eh.. Let's keep that discussion for another time.. ok? Now, let's take positions. We will assume the beast is still within just in case... So I will open the door, and step on the side, with Nine across from me to flank. Phantom and Verbal, you take positions in line with the front door, in range of Phantom's magics. Phantom will be able to blast, and you Verbal will cover & assist him. Let's do this.

Mecano moves besides the door and waits for the others to move into position. Once all are ready, he shoves the door open with an extended hand, and readies an attack on whatever beast comes out! Mecano will use his Tangat for this operation (so that the door frame doesn't impede his attacks)

THINKING: Let us pray that the body of Kyberius is still on the floor, unmoving...

Nine gets into position on the opposite side of the door, readies an attack if anything comes through, he'll attack when the critter is distracted (flanked) by Mecano

Verbal takes a position by the front door and is ready to attack anything other than his party that comes within reach. Khyberius, if he were animated it would be just the kind of nightmare that I was talking about. Things being animated once destroyed... Ack! Do not drop your weapons or fire projectiles!! They could animate and return fire!! What a nightmare this could turn out to be...

Then, abruptly, Nine stops Mecano from reaching for the door, rememebering that the journal said Traps rearm themselves, he'll check the door...

Still talking while they're searching for traps, You know, animated objects are to Warforged as undead are to the flesh-races... do you think there is some way to disrupt the magic that animates the objects like positive energy disrupts undead? That would be something, perhaps the next stage in history will see such things...
