Yahjhank will slide down, so he's at angle at the creature and swing his weapon at it.

Tracker, frustrated at not having a shot and unwilling to allow Wolf to get involved, simply waits (Nargath, please post something to let me know you are still there).

The creature tries to bite Rorsa again, but misses for a second time.

Shard continues his attacks from the ground (perhaps he should try a flurry of blows next time), but to no avail. The creature's stone skin seems impossible to damage.

Jahjhank dismounts from Rorsa, but his new position is too close to the creature for his weapon. The attack goes right over the creature's head and hits the wall (reach weapons cannot be used from adjacent squares).

Kaito attacks the creature with his warhammer, but the creature dodges out of the way of the blow.

Rorsa, squeezed by Yahjhank's uncomfortable position, sticks her head around him to attack the creature and with an amazing stroke of luck (needed a natural 20 to hit because of the partial cover), crushes the creature's body in her powerful jaws.

With the threat gone, Rorsa immediately begins into the room beyond. There, seven locked cages have wolves locked in them. They all begin barking furiously at the sight and smell of Rorsa, who in turn barks and growls back. They quickly settle down. Rorsa says, "Would any of you aid me in freeing my friends?"
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you.

Kaito was surprised when Rorsa growled back at its friends before attempting to unlock the cages. As he begins to examine the cages for traps, he asks Rorsa a question.

"What was that stone creature, Rorsa?"

After determining if the cages were trapped or not, he begins either disarming the traps or unlocking the cages as he listens to Rorsa.

Oh, thought you can use reach weapon as long as they're angled from you not directly to your front, back, left or right sides.

Tracker waits for Kaito to say whether the cages are trapped or locked, and helps to free the wolves once the all-clear is given.

i use my Knowledge Nature to see if I can work out what that creature was.

Shard stands up from his prone position and watches as Kaito works the locks.

"Rorsa, can you communicate with these wolves? Do they know of the mines here?"

Rorsa says, "I am not sure what that creature was. I believe it was one of the experiments of this research facility. Apparently, it was a success. I don't know much about their research. There may be documents around here somewhere detailing it, but I would have no idea where to look. The wolves here were probably going to have the same thing done to them.

Yes, I can communicate with them. As we walked in, I told them that you all are friends so that they will not attack. They have been caged for far too long.
"

The cages are not trapped. The locks are simply mechanisms that require opposable thumbs to operate, and not actual locks in the truest sense. The caged wolves are quickly freed and flock around Rorsa, licking her.

Rorsa adds, "As for the rest of this place, I am not really sure what is here. You are welcome to anything that you find, but I think I will be better off tending to my wolves, ensuring their safety. With this room free from that monstrosity, we will be able to use the ever-filling water and food bowls here to survive. I wish we could flee this place, but from what you have said about the changes to the land, we may be safer here than anywhere else."

Looking around the rest of the room, it does not appear too interesting. There are several piles of garbage, mostly things that the creature shredded during its tenure as guard.

OUT OF CHARACTER
No other exits from the room. There is the one doorway you passed as you entered, but opening the door, you find that it is an empty room, which could have provided a strategic resting area had you needed one during the battle with the creature. Luckily, you had Rorsa with you for protection.

Wasn't there a keystone that we haven't used yet? If there was, I will suggest that we head back to the entrance and used that keystone.

Nothing else unless you want to dig through trash :-P. You head back to the rotator room. There are slots for Yellow, Blue, Green, and Orange. Blue is where you came from, and Green is where you went. Yellow and Orange have yet to be tried. Back at the other control panel (in the other rotator room), there were several different colors available to try.

The party does not have a yellow nor an orange keycharm, making progression impossible. By the way, as Rorsa leaves, she gives you a pearl necklace she was wearing around her neck. "The necklace has power for spellcasters, I believe. The druid who awakened me owned it, so it might only work for druids. I am not sure."

Realizing that they do not have the correct colored keycharms, Shard continues, "You are correct Shroud. We should head back to the first rotator room we were in."

"Thank you Rorsa, we will hopefully find a use for them. Will you be staying here with these wolves or will you take them back to your den?"

Slightly. The scimitar emits a general feeling of confinement, an uneasiness around Rorsa and the new wolves, and a strange affinity towards Tracker.

Rorsa says, "We will head back to my den. This room makes me very uneasy, and I can tell my friends would like to leave, as well. I see that you already have a blue keycharm, so I will keep mine. If you would, return the green one in case we need to return here for food. Eventually, I would like to get out of this complex entirely, but I don't see how that would be possible. Thank you all for your help."

Back in the other rotator room, Rorsa uses the Blue Keycharm to turn the rotator room back to her den and heads in with her freed wolves. She is in a great deal of pain from her injuries sustained from the fight with the creature, but she should be fine.

Here is a picture of the rotator control panel (The ones with X's through them indicate you have already been through there):

Oops! I missed that you have also used the top brown one (that was the storage room where you found several vials of unknown liquids and the scroll of Rope Trick). The other green keycharm turns the rotator room towards another hallway that leads to yet another rotator room. This panel looks like this (you came from Green):

You use the red keycharm and hear a click, but nothing else happens. Perhaps this keycharm is broken.

Yahjhank seems to be taking in the unusuality of the area, and agrees with Kaito with a nod on the subject of away of the area.
