Small game of cards [Tromble, Telan, and Marsaili]

It has been two days since you have left Thimblefair on the way to Quiet Pasture in Southern Solace. It is high noon on a sunny day in the middle of the week. The Caravan has stopped for a short break before crossing the Solace River.

Tromble, Telan, and Marsaili are playing a friendly game of cards with Aros, who has decided that he would much prefer the company of the entertainers then the merchants.

Aros has set out a small table near the third cart of the entertainers train, where most of the smaller pieces of the circus equipment is kept (juggling pins, hoops, stuff like that). He does not like to play for money and insists that the game stay that way while he is playing.

He has won a couple of hands and is not very good at hiding the fact that he has cards hidden under parts of his clothes.

"Luck is always on Aros' side, and since I am in your humble employ I hope it stays that way." Tromble nods his head at the caravan owner and grins, then grumbles as he looks back to his own cards. "Luck for me seems to be a flirting maid, if we were playing for gold I would feel the touch of a kiss and then be left with a huge bill."

"Ah well I wouldn't want to take a friends coin, or worse have them take mine. The real stakes are gambling with the merchants. They are tight with the gold when you are buying from them, but after a few drinks it's easy enough to win that back. Perhaps some of you would like to join me the next time?"

Aros is clearly pleased that everything is going well.

"They are indeed tight. I even have trouble getting paid from them. Marsaili, how about lending a little music to liven up this game. I can accompany you if you'd like."

You guys would know that Aros is as good at playing his flute as he is at cheating at cards.

All three of you have posted, so I figured I would continue with some dialogue.

Marsaili leans back in her chair, pulls out her lute, and begins to sing a comidic song about a gambler who got caught cheating, and the torment that his marks put him through

"Your singing is enchanting Marsaili, too bad it isnt helping my luck." Tromble gives her a playful smile. "Though the song reminds me of my old friend Dimbor from Cromwell. He was a devilish cheat at cards, but he was rarely caught. However one night a lovely girl like yourself caught his heart through song and he got himself married that night. A shame he didnt discover till after the wedding night and the enchantment wore off that he married himself a half-orc. Now that's what I call a cheat!" Tromble chuckles to himself.

"Well to tell the truth, I could have warned poor Dimbor, but he owed me money at the time.... I honestly didn't imagine he'd marry the girl. But he has been blessed with many children. Ugly children. But many." Tromble gives Marsaili a shrug.

With the sound of Marsaili playing and singing (total perform check of 28) outweighing the poor performance of Aros, other entertainers are also coming out to join in the music and dancing.

The music is overwhelming and there is generally a feeling of well being to the whole setting. So much so that you fail to notice Aros sneak off.

Not being a skilled dancer, Telan uses his Balance skill to reduce his chance of looking like a fool.

Marsaili puts down her lute, and grabs Talen's hand. She then procedes to lead him through an excitingly fast dance, which she does her best to make shure he doesn't hurt himself or anyone else...

Tromble chuckles loudly as he watches Talen trying to keep up with Marsaili, then leaps up and begins lightly dancing through the gathering people. "I'd watch his hands if I were you, Marsaili." He says laughing as he passes, then joins a small group sitting and watching to the side. Wine is passed around and Tromble makes sure his cup is full.

With party in full swing, Aros re-appears. He appears to be enjoying the party, but something appears to be bothering him. The rest of the entertainers are dancing singing and generally having a good time.

"Excuse me all, I must attend to nature." Tromble declares shamelessly with a smile. "Do not drink all of the wine, I will be back shortly." With a quick bow, Tromble takes off quickly.

As Marsaili tries to take Aros' hand, he quickly pulls away and says, "I'd love too, but..I...uh, have to go take care of something."

As he turns and starts to walk away, Telan and Marsaili see one of the bigger women entertainers (Phoebe) apparently yelling at someone inside the cart Aros appears to heading for. As soon as Aros notices her, he quickly veers off and heads into another cart.

Tromble jumps out of the cart past a bewildered Phoebe. He quickly skips in time with the music back to the group of dancers, turning to blow Phoebe a kiss as he begins to dance.

"Marsaili join me!" He says as he grabs hold of her hand and begins to dance. "Don't mind my feet, they are so light i'm sure you won't even feel them... Now have you seen where Aros has gone off too?"

"I only feel them when you use them" I say jokingly, and join you in a dance. "Last I saw of Aros, he went into that cart" and I point to the cart I saw Aros go into.
