Boading and Departure

Post by Catalyst » Tue May 20, 2008 4:57 pm

As you reach the docks, you find the air a slighly humid 80 degrees. The day is beautiful, with a slight breeze blowing out to sea.

As you make your way down the docks past the vendors and traders and dock workers, you find yourselves eyeing one of the most magnificent pieces of elven shipwright you've ever seen. The ship itself is about 160 long and about 55 feet wide, with twin masts that hang tan sails. The fore and aft castles are beautifully decorated with intricate, elven designs. The ship is, for all intents and purposes, stunning.

A beautiful half-elven woman steps off the ship. She wears loose, black trousers, a white tunic that's belted at the waist with a red sash, and a pair of black leather boots. On her hip hands a very intricate rapier. A fine-crafted bastardsword with a wolf's head pommel is sheathed across her back, and she has a pair of gloves tucked into the sash.

At her side is a dire wolf, the bone-plating growths on her back the tell-tale sign of it's superiority in the wild.

My my, welcome all. Morgan told me I was getting some of the finer soldiers to carry across the sea... turns out, he was right. I am Luthien Tinuviel, and this is my ship, the Earreme. She has a kind smile as she motions to the dire wolf, who is now taking the time to give Tenzin a good sniffing before she butts his hand with her head. This is Nenya, and it looks like she wants you to pet her.

We had a few delays in getting the rigging for your mounts installed and have only just finished up. It will be about an hour before we set sail, as we need to finish loading the last of the supplies. I will show you your quarters now and we can go over everything once we set sail.

She motions for the group to follow her as she heads back up.

I look forward to this... it's been a while since I've had a worth-while adventure.

Thank you for the kind welcome Captain Tinuviel. I am Lemhae Cormangren, and I must say that this is a fine looking vessel you have here. I've never been much of a seaman myself, but I know good elven craftsmanship when I see it and I look forward to sailing on her. If I may ask, have our mounts been brought aboard yet? I'd like to check over my gear one last time before we set sail. While asking about his gear he holds his hand out tentatively for Nenya to sniff, wondering if she really is safe to pet.

Kharn will look for a light warhorse and light barding. Other than that he surveys the scene looking for anything or anyone that stands out. He'll take his time, but be certain that he's available should anyone from the Erreme look for him or make an announcement.

At the sight of the elven ship-mistress, Urith, suddenly seems to awake from the almost comatose state he has been in this whole time. His posture changes to one in which he is standing straight, his chest slightly pushed forward, his arms now seem slightly flexed and the muscles very prominent, as he walks up to the captain.

His voice seems... elongated, as he speaks slowly, and properly pronounces every letter.Greetings, Captain Luthien, Urith Muer'lo at your service. I am very pleased to make the acquaintance of such a beautiful woman, and even more pleased to be forced into sharing her company for an indeterminate amount of time.

Thank you mistress for the accomodations. Please let me know if I may be of assistance to the ship or her crew. I am a skilled weaponsmith if I may extend my services
In the meantime Danning will see to his mount, Hansen. He can feel Hansen eying the dire wolf sensing the natural wariness that tigers have for wolves. making sure to keep a steady hand on the cat he will guide her to the cabin. making sure the cat is settled he will stow his gear and make his way back to the deck to assist in whatever he can

Luthien smiles.

Thank you for the offer, and if you can work with metal there's a good chance you can find yourself useful on this ship.

She turns to the rest of the group.

However, small talk aside. We're on a mission. Morgan asked me to make sure you all reached Sardacia in one piece and undetected, and that's my goal. If any of you find yourself capable of working ropes, nets, metal, or please god someone tell me they can cook, you can help. She turns and heads back up to the ship.

So welcome aboard, and let's get this show started.

Sorry, I can burn water if you'd like but thats about all I can cook. I do have some knowledge of weapons craft, though what good that'll be on board I'll leave up to you. Just let me know who I'm to take orders from and I'll do my best to carry them out. And I must say I admire your choice of weapons, I'm rather partial to the bastard sword myself. If I may ask, where did you acquire such a fine looking weapon?, eyeing the sword hilt sticking up behind her shoulder.

THINKING: Once we are on our way I'll have to see if she is interested in sparring. She looks as though she may have a few tricks to teach.

She reaches up and touches the wolf-head pommel of the sword.

Ah, fond memories. Maybe when there's more time I'll tell you the story.

The last of the supplies are being loaded aboard, and you all can hear this extremely loud voice screaming across from the other ship.

Captain Luthien simply shakes her head.

He wants to get an early start, so he rushes. I'll never understand why he doesn't just set off right the first time. she says, seemingly to herself.

We're just about ready to set sail. If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them once we get this voyage underway. A storm is rolling in, and I get the feeling it's going to be a bad one, so it's best we get offshore with a quickness. She takes her place at the helm, eyeing her well-oiled and experienced crew. She leans over to one of the crewman, am aged and thin elf with pitch-black hair, and says something somewhat inaudible. The elf nods and turns to the party.

I am to take you below deck and show you your quarters. I was alost notified that some of you were concerned about your mounts and would like to see them. They are in the cargo hold, and I will take you there once you get your things settled. Follow me, please. The elf leads you down a flight of stairs.

Lemhae falls in next to Jardil, following their newly provided guide. He eyes Jardil up and down and says, So, I swing a sword, what is it you do?

Heh, so you're descended from dragons? I'd ask for a demonstration, but I don't think the captain would appreciate her ship burning to the waterline., Lemhae exlaims, still grinning.

Lemhae reaches out and grabs Jardil's offered hand and shakes vigorously while exclaiming, I'm sure the pleasure will be all mine. Then, twisting his head to look towards Ren, I'm sorry, but I missed your name earlier. Thats quite an impressive... Um, what is it you've got there?, pointing at Ren's mind blade.

Danning returns from the quarters assigned to him. now wearing a simple tunic and breaches. having also doffed his boots for the more comfortable bare feet he is used to. observers will notice that he still has his axe and a single dagger with him but slung. he looks around recognizing the party members from the audience with the king and walks up to them.
Well met my friends! now that I am rid of my armour I feel more comfortable to introduce myself. Danning at your service!
he then leans into a deep bow. and then straightens.
