Character Creation
Character Creation
Use this topic for posting your character ideas. I would like to see the following things for each idea:
Name: (Self Explanatory)
Race: (Self Explanatory)
Class: (Only use the class you start off with, if you plan on taking other classes at later levels then don't put that down here)
Weapon of Choice: (Name ANY weapon providing it isn't masterwork or better)
Armour of Choice: (Name ANY armour providing it isn't masterwork or better, also include a shield here if you use one)
Fighting Style: (If you plan on using spells, put that here, likewise if you will be a melee warrior. Try and include as much detail as possible, even if you consider your role in battle to be healing then put that down here)
After I have received 4-6 character ideas, I will open up for .tos files to be PMed to me. In this file, create a first level character as normal WITHOUT any armour or weapons. As far as equipment goes, only put down the essential things (Backpack, Bedroll etc...). For everything else then go nuts.
For class choices, I won't be using Gestalt and I won't be using Psionics either. If you want to play a race with psionic abilities then it is only okay if those abilities can be duplicated as spell like abilities. Any other class choice should be fine.
You will be starting at level 1. If you want to play a race with a level adjustment then be aware that it will mean you will level very slowly, but I will allow most races with a LA of +3 or under. Starting abilities will be done on 40 point buy.
So if you have an idea of a question post it here.

Re: Character Creation
Name: Tagrel
Race: Half-Orc
Class: Druid (using the both of the Player's Handbook 2 alternate class features, if allowed)
Weapon of Choice: Scimitar, but not really... see below
Armor of Choice: Leather, but not really... see below
Fighting Style: Tagrel fights in his alternate form (predator form at first level) as a front-line melee fighter. He memorizes mostly healing spells with the intention of using them after he is done biting whatever's in front of him to death. If things are going badly for him or an ally, he sacrifies a spell to use spontaneous rejuvenation (fast healing), then goes back to biting things. In other words, he's a fighting druid/secondary healer, not a battlefield control/army of pets druid. He is also more than willing to serve as a stealthy scout, should the situation require it.
Tagrel is an NPC I created for my live game when we were going to be short players. I had so much fun playing him that I want to try him as a PC.
From your other post, it's clear you don't want a detailed background, but here's how I conceptualized him in my own game (in his own words): Poor Tagrel. Tagrel is ugly. Even orcs think Tagrel is ugly. So Tagrel runs off to live in the woods. There, Tagrel learns many things... many interesting things. The woods now belong to Tagrel. He keeps them safe and keeps out things that don't belong.

Re: Character Creation
That looks good. I don't mind having a small description like that, it's the detailed biographys of the characters life that I don't want (you are first level after all).
Once I get enough people posting concepts, I'll send out PMs.

Re: Character Creation
Both of those look fine.
I'll wait for a while to see if another two people sign up. If I get nothing then I'll start with you four. PMs will be sent once I know how many people are in this.

Re: Character Creation
Yea I think it should be fun. If we cordinate our invocations we can make the GM's head explode.

Re: Character Creation
Not my head!
Hehe, I've never DMed for Warlocks before so it should be quite fun for me too.
I'll have a look at Catfolk when I get back home. Level adjustment is done as if you're starting on 0XP but need to get XP for third level (3,000) to hit second level and this will continue so you will always be 1 level behind everyone else. I shouldn't worry about it too much, you should be levelling up quite quickly in this campaign.
For now, if people want to start PMing me .tos files for their characters then they can. I will announce final party on the weekend.
Starting stats are 40 point buy. Starting equipment is the same as the starting pack for each character type. Just without weapons or armour.

Re: Character Creation
Benji,
Looking through the classes provided, it seems we may be a little short of healing so I am looking to change my character concept some. I will post another one soon.

Re: Character Creation
Valinor, that looks fine
Klakxor, That's fine too. I think Tagrel was going to provide a little bit of healing, but this works best.
Now you have 2 druids, 2 warlocks a dwarf and an elf.
Could be fun!
As things stand, this looks to be the final party. If anybody else wants in then I might consider opening up for a few more spaces, but otherwise once I receive all the .tos files this will do.

Re: Character Creation
I need to code the mine quite a bit (forgot just how much work I put into the original shifter race). And since the class (with the numerous substitutions) needs to be done from almost scratch, it might take me a couple days.
This should be fun, 2 druids who will not be able to wild shape, how ridiculous

Re: Character Creation
Hey get us Locks to 4th lvl, give us some healing wands and we can take care of the healing. Getting to take 10 all the time on a UMD is nice. You only need a 20 for wands.
Actually just give us ALL the wands.

Re: Character Creation
And 2 druids who can't spontaneously summon an army of pets. We'll have to remember that the spontaneous rejuvenations don't stack with each other.
Re: Character Creation
I like how you're all thinking about healing.
Means you're not thinking about traps

Girruth Stonehammer (marine731200) - Dwarf Barbarian
Therrass (AlGromHerrit) - Catfolk Warlock
Ny'Feraeth (valinor) - Elf Swordsage
Rift Drussel (klakxor) - Shifter Druid
???? (grepme2001) - Warforged Artificer
Seven characters so far. I think I can probably handle that

What king of things qualify for the category "everything else"? I wanna' make sure I'm not going to nuts.Benji wrote:As far as equipment goes, only put down the essential things (Backpack, Bedroll etc...). For everything else then go nuts.
Oh... and concerning wands... once I've attuned myself to the we're golden as long as I don't roll a one.

Hmmm... two warlocks and an artificer, thing should get interesting in the magic item department.
