[RotR] Use of traits in Runelords

Millennia ago, the powerful empire of Thassilon ruled the land, dominated by despotic runelords who maintained their power through harnessing the power of rune magic. [RotR] Use of traits in Runelords

I found traits in Mak's, Vi's, and Dregs' character files. I'm not finding anyplace in this thread though that we discuss them and that I indicate how man to choose. Who recalls this discussion. Seeing Mak with one campaign trait and one racial trait, I think that somewhere we spoke of this, but I found no results when I searched the Runelords forum.

Let's open discussion now please. I'd like to allow the selection of one racial trait and one campaign trait for all characters. What do you say? With Mak having them, I think at some point this was discussed, but just no record was made.

Hmm I can't find exactly where this was discussed at the creation of this PbP, over 2 and a half years ago...
I know that you've allowed one Campaign trait and one Regional trait in your PbP (example)
I am not sure about 'Racial' traits...

I believe this was discussed before you took over the game. Probably in the original recruitment page...

Yes, I moved that into the Runelords Forum for easier finding. But I rant a search on the whole Runelords forum and only came up with one result. Anyhow, I'm opening discussion on the topic now, officially and it's being documented. :angel:

If I remember correctly we chose one regional trait and that was it. I don't remember the rest of the traits being available at the time we created the original characters.

Yeah, I remember it being a bonus "feat" from the regional list. They were feats, not traits, because traits hadn't been invented yet :P

Ah. I don't recall any of that discussion. So with the fact that we've migrated over to CRB, and traits, as they are called now, I think all are in acceptance that at least one trait is allowed. Do I have any votes for allowing two traits? One campaign, one regional?

On page #13 of the Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide:
Feats of Varisia The people of Varisia display a variety of innate skills and unique talents. Subject to your GM’s approval, you may choose any of the following feats as a bonus feat during character creation.

The bonus regional feat that Vi took (+1 caster level with illusions and the ability to cast ghost sound 2/day) is considerably more powerful than a typical trait. So, if we are going with two traits, that should probably count as both of them, just out of play balance.

I vote for two traits. I initially introduced that option to add a bit of background for each of the characters. I almost forgot that I had originally been the DM of this game.

It seems there's no more dialog on this. I'll take it that two traits are acceptable by everyone with patransom keeping Vi's "half-feat" over the two traits. Everyone, please make sure to update your characters in the Adventurer's Forum with the gear and traits.
