Prost dismisses gaseous form, pats himself down just to make sure he is all there.This shouldn't be a problem. He retrieves a potion of water breathing, just in case and stealths into the water.

Lola, with sword in hand, waits by the water as well. She is also keeping an eye out at the exits to make sure nothing else decides to join us.

Sorry for the delay. Been a while since I had to create a new map, so I kept putting it off. It really wasn't hard, silly me.

 

Prost dismisses gaseous form and downs a potion of water breathing. He wades stealthily into the water and soon finds that the tunnel does indeed submerge completely. It continues this way for 100 feet, then emerges again. Poking his head cautiously just above the water, Prost sees a dry landing ahead. Standing on the dry ground are two small black-scaled humanoid creatures. They look a bit of a cross between lizards and dogs. They are not paying much attention to the water and don't seem to have spotted Prost.

OUT OF CHARACTER
It took Prost 5 rounds to traverse the submerged tunnel, which was no problem for him with his water breathing potion. Since I'm sure it will come up, the tunnel does not require swim checks, but would require holding your breath per the rules under swim here.

 

ACTIVE EFFECTS
1. Cyrius of the Sudden Blade: sunrod and mind blade readied, 17 bolts left, 4 hp damage
2. Worrel: longsword and shield readied, 0 arrows left, 0 lay on hands left, 1 smite evil left, wand of CLW 21 charges left, uninjured
3. Texudus TreeBender: longbow readied, 46 arrows left, 4 hp damage
4. Evan Prost: short sword and loaded slingstaff readied, 6 +1 bullets left, darkvision 170.7 minutes left, water breathing ~10 hours left, 14 hp damage
5. Lola: short sword readied, 49 bolts left, 8 hp damage
6. Fluffy: 11 hp damage

Nothing changes as Prost watches, so he returns to the group and reports what he saw...

Worrel does the same, thinking that he will need to carefully clean and dry his equipment after this. While he waits, he sheathes his sword and secures his gear before entering the water.

Prost leads the party into the submerged tunnel. No one has any trouble holding their breath.

However, as the group emerges from the water, they find that the black-scaled dog-lizards, apparently alerted by the approaching light, have moved to the edge of the water. They shoot hand crossbows at Cyrius, but miss.

The water is waist-deep and counts as difficult terrain (2 squares per square)

Lola moves up just past were Worrel was standing (4103 I think it reads, just in front of Prost) and while moving puts her sword away, draws her crossbow and fires (if possible).

At what point did Prost draw his short sword? I believe he has only had sling staff equipped ... I will look back thru threads, but don’t recall Prost drawing his sword.

Never mind. Found it...Prost will stow his short sword... :shock:

Having apparently missed his attack on K1 (or did the time-space continuum blink :? ?), Cyrius re-materializes his mind blade in its longsword form and flings it at K2.

The previous post was to validate actions for the first half of Round 1, covering Prost, Tex, and the kobolds. Cyrius did not act in this partial validation because he was lower down in the initiative order.

The point of the partial validation was to allow people who go after the kobolds to adapt their actions to the changing situation. I was not trying to ignore actions. Apologies if it seemed like that.

I did try to make it clear in the active effects list at the start of combat. And also with this note in the last post: "Now we get a full round where everyone acts. Since the situation has changed (slightly), please post even if you just want to keep the same action you already posted."

If K2 is still standing by the time Tex goes, he fires twice at it, otherwise he'll move as far as he can toward dry ground.

Lola will keep her actions as posted, putting sword away, getting crossbow out and firing (if possible) 22 to hit, 2 damage.

That's two move actions: (1) a move, during which you can draw, but not stow, a weapon, and (2) stowing a weapon. No action left to shoot, unfortunately.

 

Cyrius charges his mind blade with psychic energy and flings it at K2. He misses.

Round 2 Begins

Prost reloads his sling staff and attacks K2. The magical bullet stops dead as all force is transferred into the creature, driving them backwards [7 hp damage]

Since K2 is still standing, Tex fires twice at it. His first shot misses, but the second arrow's hurtling flight is interrupted as it buries itself in the target, snuffing out their life [7 hp damage kills K2]

Note that it is dark here and Cyrius is carrying the only light. A light source will need to get to at least 3507 to shine around the corner and reveal much more of the cave.
