Violasha at The Feathered Serpent

During the feast, Vi was approached by Vorvashali who asked for her assistance at his shop. She accepted the offer and was asked to show up the next morning.

Vorvashali Voon, an exotic-looking character with bright blue eyes, long red hair, and almost bronze-colored skin, is gregarious and excited about every customer that enters his shop. Inside The Feathered Serpent, you pick up the strange smells of incenses, spices and dust. As you look about, you can see sealed shelves and display cabinets cluttered with things. He explains to you that not everything here is for sale and shows you what sections are just for display and what can be sold explaining that his shop, though small and cramped, is part museum and part store. As he shows you about, you see an eclectic collection of strange relics, statues, and monument fragments and clearly points out that these displays can never be opened. At the same time he shows you what items are for sale; a variety of implements for making things, bottles of potions, collections of wands and scrolls, and so forth. All the shelves and displays seem to be locked, so the only way someone can get anything is by requesting it from Vorvashali. To enter or exit his shop, all traffic has to walk past his counter. For the good part of the day, he introduces you to customers as they come and go and shows you his price list for every item he has inventoried. As trade for your help with a customer who in turn bought a couple potions and a wand, he hands you three gold coins.

On the second day he brings you to the back of his shop where you see he has a very nice lab set up. It's easy to see a number of decanters of boiling liquids percolating through tubes into pots, vials, flasks, or mixing decanters. Animals of varying sorts are left in cages and jars on shelves or hanging from the wall or ceiling. More jars and boxes hold an wide assortment of things; clearly components needed for a large number of spells.

It's so good to have you here my dear. While I do have others who come to help in making items, you're my first and only actual employee. Oh, but don't let this alarm you dear. I do understand that you have other things you'd like to do. I'm just looking for some help. I'll pay you one coin per item you help me sell. If it's a potion, scroll, wand, or something else of magic, that would be one gold coin. Otherwise anything else would be one silver. If the magic item sold is one that you help me make, you'll get an equal share of the profit from that item. What experience do you have in scrolls and potions?

Well my dear... reading a scroll and writing a scroll are indeed two very different things. It takes a lot of time and patience as well as skill. Do you think you have it in you to learn how to scribe scrolls? I'll take it from your not mentioning so, that you're not too skilled in making potions either. Since the goblin raid, my stock on certain potions have run dry and, believe it or not, had resulted in a back order of potions. I've already sent a message to friends for help in making some protective items that can help safeguard a business or home. It's been most unfortunate for the town, but for me, well...

Vi replies, I'm always interested in learning more about the arcane arts. Perhaps learning about the writing of scrolls would be a step in that direction...

 OUT-OF-CHARACTER:
Bluff check (1d20+8=11). This is a partial lie, Vi is very interested in arcane power, but she knows full well that she doesn't have a lot of patience. She might get bored if writing scrolls doesn't have a lot of flash and immediate results, which she's pretty sure it doesn't.

A side note: Vi needs to do some banking. With the reward for the hunt, she's carrying too much gold for her slender frame. Is there a place in town to convert gold to gems or put gold on deposit?

 OUT-OF-CHARACTER:
Since I was unable to find on in the Mod, I created the Brentwere. Mak and Durmisht are currently acting as paid escorts, protecting the loan collector. Vi can open an account there and make a deposit.
