Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
Clearly not pleased, Marcus responds: This is a tall order that you seek from us. What we find we keep, regardless your intentions with this competitor. I know I'm going to need additional ranged ammo. You said we'll be escorting supplies. What type of supplies will be in this cart? Will our gear and additional items blend in?
Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
“Yes. As I said, keep whatever plunder you obtain from the cultists,” answers Smenk, “Although if you come across any evidence of Dourstone's willing cooperation with them, I hope you would consider turning it over to me. For the good of the town. This shipment of supplies is mostly food, but will also include arrows and crossbow bolts. If you deliver the arrows by sticking them into the faceless wizard, I certainly won't complain. I imagine you could hide some other items in the cart with the shipment. You'd have to arrange the details with Proust.”

Did you decide about buying the scroll or any potions? Anything else you need? Or are we ready to move ahead to Adventure #2, "The Three Faces of Evil"? |
Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
Cyrius realizes that Smenk is indeed frightened of the cultists, but is more concerned about his own safety than that of the town (quelle surprise!); he is completely in the dark about Smenk's financial motives. If no wand of cure wounds is available, and the only scroll would probably be too dear, he's for moving forward.

Cyrius tries his untrained Sense Motive skill. Twice. And actually makes one!: 1d20 + 1 = 19 + 1 = 20 1d20 +1 = 18 + 1 = 19 |

Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
Prost says to Cyrius.....“Not to worry. I can slip anything we need into the carts, as long as it will fit into a grain sack.”
THINKING: Not that we have anything to slip into the carts, Smenk being such a tight wad; I could cut some purses, but thats what got me into this mess in the first place Prost then notices Lola the amazon, and how could he miss the amazon...“and maybe we may want to get a helm or two to protect some noggins. It gets pertty tight in places down there. I'm all for getting on with this, but I'm going to pick up some Antitoxin, I hear that them tieflings like to use poison. Might be a good idea to take some just before they come to get the carts. And maybe I'll pick up an other dagger too.”

Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
Taking Evan's queue, Marcus picks up 3 antitoxins plus five alchemist's fire. It's the smile on his face that hints to a satisfying idea that hit him when seeing them. Marcus is ready.

With arrows, Tex is ready to go.
Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
“Of course,” Cyrius muses, “it'll probably be best if we work out a stratagem to get ourselves into the mines without raising an alarm. If there's a rear adit, that would be useful, or we could take a shipment of goods and pose as the guards.”

Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
Prost thinks for a moment about Cyrius's comment then comments.“It would be best to keep this simple, less to go wrong in the heat of battle.” Prost continues...“The best plan is to be what they expect, workers with no skills other the being able to push carts. There are no threats along the route that requires gurards, and the supply runs up to now have been without gurards. A change in the routine would alert them that something is afoot. Supprise I think would work best, and pretending to be simple workers would serve us best to pull that off.”

Re: [Active Thread] Rastingdrung
Prost comments, almost as an after thought.......“and getting into the mine doesn't require any strategy, remember your part of my crew and we are expect in the mine to deliver supplies to the cultists. Now surviving and getting out is where the problem be.”

“I agree with Poust. The simpler we keep this the easier it will be to get in. If we give them what they expect, they'll have no reason to question.”
