I made a couple of executive adjustments to your actions in order to get you moving in the direction I think you've agreed upon.

 

Round 17 Continues:

“Go find Prost! I'll keep these ones back!,” cries Worrel before he steps closer to the corner. Once in place, he drops his sunrod in order to grip his shield high in front of him and prepare to intercept any crossbow bolts fired by the goblins.

Prost loads his sling-staff and quietly moves forward trying to keep the Dire Weasels in sight.

Satisfied that he's healed enough to get back in the fight, Tex grabs the quarterstaff known as Nadroc's Tribute from Marcus' back and moves into the large chamber, looking for Prost.

After waiting to allow Tex to grab his extra weapon, Marcus follows him into the dark cathedral, making the area rather less dark in the process.

Cyrius delays, waiting to withdraw along with Lola when she follows the others into the cathedral.

A crossbow bolt comes flying towards Cyrius, missing. Looking for the source, he sees that a goblin (G1) has crept up just to the limit of his torch's illumination.

The weasels emerge from the dark mine tunnels and come rushing towards Marcus and Tex.

Worrel, get your armored prat down here, we're moving out! Cyrius calls. He continues to move after Lola. [Cyrius has a standard action left. Perhaps he wants to attack a weasel?]

Two crossbow bolts come out of the dark corridor to the north of Worrel. Given his defensive stance and the additional cover provided by the corner of the wall, neither hits him.

G11 also shoots a bolt at Worrel, to no effect.

The weasels, in comparison, took double moves and their speed is 40 feet, compared to Prost's 20 feet. That's how they got so far away from you.[/ooc]

Leaving the sunrod behind, Worrel tries to keep up with Cyrius. He clatters, a bit, as he bounces off one wall while turning the corner and moving into the large chamber. He holds his shield up between himself, his companions and whatever goblins are brave enough to venture from the small tunnels.

Hearing a commotion ahead, Prost moves forward toward the noise.

Tex swats at Weasel 2 with the borrowed quarterstaff. Like two clashing rams, the weapon impacts soundly against the creature [4 hp damage].

Marcus attack the same weasel with his mace, but cannot replicate Tex's success [miss].

Worrel is too late in spotting G1 creeping up from behind in the shadows. The goblin capitalizes on this fleeting opportunity, deftly sending a crossbow bolt to strike the unsuspecting paladin [9 hp damage].

Weasel 1 steps up and delivers a driving series of quick bites that overwhelm Tex's defenses [6 hp damage]. Tex does manage, however, to prevent the creature from latching on.

Weasel 2 lunges at Marcus, but is unable to connect. The creature then collapses dead on the floor, overwhemed by injury and exertion.

“Cursed big rats they have down here,” Cyrius remarks as he steps up and slashes at the remaining weasel. He misses.

Once again, Worrel fails to spot a goblin before it's too late. G6 creeps up through the shadows and launches a crossbow bolt at him. The missile bores into Worrel's chest with an audible grating sound [10 hp damage].

Round 19 Continues:

Worrel winces with the pain but moves to attack the weasel. “I will require healing, soon, my friends.” The weasel will require more than just healing, however, as Worrel delivers a heavy overhand chop that splits the creature neatly into two halves [crit confirmed for 13 hp, weasel dead].

Prost emerges from the mine entrance, loaded sling at hand. “How can I help?” he asks.

Tex comments, “Let's not stand in the doorway and let those goblins snipe at us. If I had me bow, I'd show them a thing or tow.” He moves into cover behind the door.

With the sudden appearance of Worrel's longsword in the weasels skull, Marcus instead scans the area for other threats. Instead of a threat, he sees Prost ready to help, so Marcus moves over to the halfling and casts light on his readied sling bullet [this makes the light disappear from Marcus' mace, but there will still be light here from Cyrius' torch even if Prost throws the bullet].

Goblin 1 fires a crossbow bolt at Cyrius, but misses because Cyrius is only partially visible to him [Cyrius has cover]. Frustrated, the goblin ducks back up the hall into the darkness.
