Could be hiding something there THINKING: otherwise what a waste of a trap. Prost strolls over and starts to examine the pit for a way across.
OUT OF CHARACTER
There's no obvious way across or around the pit, but the floor that covers it works by tilting, so it could be jammed. A disable device check would be appropriate

Prost leans over the edge of the pit, fiddling with the mechanism trying to bring the floor up and disable the trap;

Ardrea has her familiar stay alert to any tremors.
I could fly across and check the other side if needed. Maybe there's a lever or switch?

Adrea, looks like a door to me with a lock. Can you detect traps and pick locks? Prost comments,Maybe you should leave this to me unless of course you have skills
OUT OF CHARACTER
Prost auto detected pit trap, failed to disarm the pit. Door, has not been checked out yet to see if it is trap…hence Prost comment

No, I'm afraid I don't have your sort of skills and I'm running low on spells. None of which help with a door.

if we can't stop the trap, so can't check the door, and no other unopened doors, and given deceit/trickery is a theme here.. we don't see any secret doors, I guess it's time to leave then? Bringing this traitor doppleganger with us? Or do we do anither careful sweep of this level for any hidden doors we missed then leave? Thoughts? ?

For now, the party ignores the expensive clothes and jewelry in the three bedrooms.

Prost disables the pit trap and leads the party across it. Once there, he discovers that the double doors at the end of the hall are fake. They are just affixed to the surface of the stone wall and not designed to open at all.

As the rest of the party discusses their options, Worrel looks behind them, in case the doppelgangers somehow return. This decision proves wise, since he spots a blank-faced creature peer out the door of the map room the party just left (at 0615). Before anyone in the party can act, the creature ducks back into the room, heading south.
OUT OF CHARACTER
The doppelganger beat you all on initiative, so you're not exactly sure where it's gone, other than south...

He either hid someplace we didn't look or there's a hidden door in that room we missed, Cyrius opines as he follows Prost, dragging the captive doppelganger after him, alert for any sudden attack (moving to 1114).

Prost will take twenty, to search for a secret door in the map room, focusing on the south wall...

Lola says at least we only need to search in the direction it went... but we must be careful maybe their is a circle in the map and they also come from behind... maybe someone stands gaurd? and with that she starts searching west down, then along south, then east wall toward north [aka trying to face door for part of search and she ends up looking out the door down the corridor]. She does not take 20 unless stays on lookout.

Worrel glares at the doppelganger before quietly stating, Do you want to tell us anything? Unfortunately, Worrel is not particularly intimidating and the doppelganger remains quietly sullen.

Cyrius moves into the corner of the room and stands guard.

Lola says at least we only need to search in the direction it went... but we must be careful maybe there is a circle in the map and they also come from behind... maybe someone stands guard? She quickly searches the perimeter of the room, but finds nothing. She ends up back at the doorway, facing down the hallway.

Riding Fluffy, Prost searches the room very slowly and carefully. In the southeast corner, he finds a very cunningly hidden secret door. He opens it to find an alcove with another very cunningly hidden secret door.

OUT OF CHARACTER
Finding the first door required Prost to take 20 several times (in each square along the east wall before he got to the corner). In the alcove, he rolled really well on an initial check, so he found the second door right away. This is your opportunity to decide who opens the next door and get yourselves in marching order before more things happen...

ACTIVE EFFECTS

table talk... Not sure how noisy we are, but assuming whoever is on the other side of the door will know we are coming thought, don't think stealthing in is an option, I could try to quietly open door and peek with a mirror Prost has... Pat can we table talk? Ideas guys. Prost can get very stealthy, if peeking sees nothing...got 19 for stealth, and that's without potion Prost has

Excuse the interruption - but if you guys wish (and approved by your DM) - I can create a private section on the TOS Discord server just for your Group, if you want to discuss strategy and/or other stuff (like group planning and such) - I did the same thing with the other PbP currently running (We also do our Dice Rolls there :D )
Just lemme know - cheers!
