“All of you RUN CUT HIM OFF.” Its a one way passage. Damn us for not seeing this when we were there.
Marcus is in a full run to cut off the green one.

Re: [Active Thread] The Third Face of Evil
Lola will zap worrel with two blasts of the clw wand and take a blast herself.
for worrel
for worrel
for lola
Then, she will pick up her crossbow, reload it and run to find the faceless one, knowing this will take a number of rounds.

OUT OF CHARACTER |
Doing a couple of rounds here, since you guys posted plenty of actions |
Round 20
Worrel remains unconscious.
“Lola, tend to Worrel,” Cyrius declares, then runs to check on Prost.
Lola retrieves her wand, then moves over near Worrel.
“All of you RUN CUT HIM OFF. Its a one way passage. Damn us for not seeing this when we were there.” Marcus is in a full run to cut off the green one.
Who knows what nefarious activities the Faceless One is performing behind the secret door?
“Wait, can't we just follow him through this door?” asks Tex, moving up to the secret door.
Round 21
Worrel remains unconscious.
Cyrius reaches Prost and finds him just as you left him, mumbling softly [Cyrius still has one action left from Round 21]
Lola gives Worrel a zap of the wand [healed 5 hp and now at exactly 0 and disabled]
Marcus passes Cyrius and enters the darkened labyrinth of dead goblins [Marcus has an action left, but is now in the dark]
The Faceless One continues doing who knows what...
Tex pushes the button to open the secret door, but is rewarded only with a grinding sound. “Blast, I think he's jammed it,” says Tex, turning to follow Marcus and Cyrius.

Lola continues actions posted above with healing zaps, picking up crossbow and moving to follow.
Re: [Active Thread] The Third Face of Evil
Round 22
Worrel waits for additional healing.
Having moved near Prost the previous round, Cyrius removes the sunrod from Prost's boot and follows after Marcus.
Lola continues to heal Worrel with her wand [healed 8 hp]
Marcus casts light on himself.
In the now lighted labyrinth, Cyrius and Marcus see the Faceless One step into view. He casts a spell and magical projectiles fly forth, parting the air with a humming whine before carving a jagged wound in Cyrius [3 magic missiles hit for a total of 12 hp damage]
Tex continues to follow Marcus and Cyrius as fast as his stubby legs can go.

Re: [Active Thread] The Third Face of Evil
Round 24
Worrel gets to his feet and picks up the weapons he dropped while unconscious [Worrel wouldn't know the secret door is there; he was knocked out when the Faceless One left]
Stung by the magical attack, Cyrius advances (jogging to one side to avoid the fire pit and give Marcus and Texudus clearer shots) and swings at the party's nemesis. A fierce hit grates across his enemy, leaving lacerated wounds [critical for 19 hp damage]
Lola gives herself a shot of healing from her wand [healed 3 hp], puts away one of the things in her hands (sword or wand, probably doesn't matter which right now), then steps to where she dropped her crossbow.
Marcus targets the Faceless One with two Scorching Rays simultaneously. Missing, the rays fizzle out against the far wall [Your ray attack is +4, +1 more from bless, but there's a -4 for shooting into melee; even without that you weren't very close to hitting]
The Faceless One yelps at the wound from Cyrius, steps back into a position with more cover, retrieves a potion, and drinks it. Some of his injuries are lessened.
Tex catches up with Marcus.

Re: [Active Thread] The Third Face of Evil
Round 25
Where did it go, Lola? shouts Worrel, healing himself and preparing to follow Lola's directions... [healed 2 hp and holding action for directions]
Taking a step forward, Cyrius charges his mind blade with psychic energy and with a silent appeal to Athena swings at the Faceless One again--but the goddess seems not to have heard his prayer.
Lola picks up her crossbow and sheathes her sword in preparation to reload. “Secret door, follow me,” she says, but she then adds, after considering all the things she's got planned, “Actually, go back the way we came and I'll join you once I finish reloading”
Worrel moves in the direction Lola indicated.
Marcus moves into the room. “Cyrius, back away for me. PLEASE!” he asks, holding his Attack for Cyrius to comply.
The Faceless One growls at Cyrius, “I don't know what spell you used to create that weapon, but perhaps this will stop it.” He succeeds at casting defensively, then reaches out to touch Cyrius. He's unable to make contact, but still holds the charge of the spell.
Tex proceeds toward the battle and launches an arrow at the Faceless One. He doesn't quite have a clear shot yet from where he stands in the hallway, so he misses.

Round 26
Against his better judgement, Cyrius steps back, but stands ready to attack if the Faceless One moves adjacent to him...
Marcus fires off the scorching electric ray he had prepared. The ray delivers only a slight sunburn mild jolt of static [5 hp damage; Note that TOS says Marcus gets only one ray].
Lola reloads her crossbow and gets ready to run to catch up.
Worrel continues to follow Lola's direction, now heading towards where he can hear combat. The corners and turns prevent him from breaking into a full run.
The Faceless One says to Marcus, “I'll teach you to shoot fire lightning at Angall's greatest disciple!” He steps into the ashes of the campfire next to Marcus...
...which triggers Cyrius' readied attack, for all the good that does...
...the Faceless One reaches out and touches Marcus, severely reducing his mental faculties [temporary -4 to INT, WIS, and CHA]
“And I'll teach you to poke at my friends with mysterious magic,” responds Tex. He lets fly his fickle arrow, intending to deliver a missive of torment and woe, though it proves to be a rather mild message [4 hp damage]

Is the secret door between 0812 & 0813 open? If so, move 35 feet to 0614. Otherwise, 40 feet to 1411 |
