opening TOS files

I cannot open any TOS files - even my own that I save on my PC - I get an error message (that the "extension" TOS is not found
so what is this fumble finger gut doing wrong?

To open a .tos file:
Open TOS+ (which starts Excel)
In TOS+, use the various "LOAD" buttons on the Control page.
Load Character to load up a full .tos character.
Load Class to load up a Class .tos file
Load Race to load a Racial .tos file.
Does this helps?

when I do this a message "deleting" appears the it opens w/o the data
