Pathfinder 2e versus PbP Considerations

Post by admin »

This thread will serve as a repository of "stuff" that are related to the PbP aspects while using the Pathfinder 2nd edition.
Personally, this will be useful to track aspects that need slight changes to be more compatible for the PbP format.
#1
RECALL KNOWLEDGE :1action:
You attempt a skill check to try to remember a bit of knowledge regarding a topic related to that skill. The GM determines the DCs for such checks and which skills apply
Since Players should not be aware of the d20 result, they need NOT accompany any request for Recall Knowledge by a die result; instead, they should just state what they seek to recall: The DM will roll in the background, and ADD the relevant skill for that knowledge type. While the player might have an idea of which skill will be used, this may NOT be the case in some situations.

Example: Using Recall Knowledge with NATURE to see which creature has made the tracks, but the creature would require an Occult check instead!
#2
FASTER PROGRESS ROLLS (When Outside of Combat)
Unlike the table top game where the DM can ask a single player to roll an ability check and immediately get a result, a PbP does not allow such interaction to take place; The DM could ask a single roll from a player and then he, and the rest of the group, would have to wait however long until that specific player produces this roll. So instead of holding up the game for such quick rolls, the DM will roll for the player and add the relevant bonuses to avoid this pause. This will make the PbP much smoother and not be held off by a single Player, making the experience more fun for everyone!

Suggestions are WELCOME!
