OpenOffice

I recently bought a new laptop and it doesn't have Microsoft Office loaded on it. I downloaded a free alternative called OpenOffice and am encountering some serious problems, ie. I can't get the sheet to run properly. Does any one know of an inexpensive alternative to Microsoft Office that will run the sheet or am I SOL?

It used to be that you could just buy Microsoft Excel without the rest of Office, for a little cheaper. I don't know if that's true any more, though.

Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. Oh well. Hopefully I'll get a copy soon somehow.
