Adding and removing books(feats, skills) to TOS+

Post by Honeybadger »

Hello Gang,

Final question before buying a 2 year subscription...

I am in multiple games, some allow certain rule books and other don't.

Like in one campaign, they allow the Player's handbook 2, another campaign allows the "Complete series (fighter, mage, cleric) , another just allows the basic rulebooks.

Is there a way to have all these books in TOS+ and tick the book if it's allowed and untick when they are not?

Love the sheet and the laptop feature but also kinda need this feature.

Thanks all!

The information contained is from the SRD which is mostly the three core books (PHB, DMG, MM) the outside information from the additional books are available in the added content (no additional fee) and would be added in for the particular character you are playing. Basically based on this you would only have the information from those books if you chose to add it so you would not be able select the information outside of the campaign.

There are some exceptions however. Traits and flaws for example are included, but they are specific to one book and you would only be selecting the data if you were looking for that information and specifically selected the category.

I may be in err about some of the information but it should be only by knowledgeable choice to be able to even select information from another source and thus rule compliance for your games should not become an issue.

It is not legal for any product (free or otherwise) to contain copyrighted information unless they have permission from the author of such work. Because of that restriction, TOS+ was build to be very customizable as to allow users to create Content that they would wish to use. Users have been sharing their customized work, to help each other with that kind of stuff!
Example of Customization: You could easily create a magical Hat that grants +1 level to an Arcane class, adds +2 to Charisma, adds +5 to any current Spell Resistance you have, allows you to climb at 20' per round, and gives a bonus of +3 to Concentration...! (wow seems like a cool magical object to create - I'll show you how to do this in TOS+: See below)

There are no "tick marks" as you call them, simply because that is not how it works in TOS+. You can load, in TOS+, a Class/Race shared by users by using the Load buttons!

TOS+ is designed to be the best character sheet around to Create + Maintain a Character in D&D3.5 or PFRPG. It is not designed to be a DataBase of all existing D&D related information!!

Hope this helps,

Richard
HAT of the SORCERER
This small example explains HOW to create a Hat that:
  • adds +1 level to an Arcane class,
  • adds +2 to Charisma,
  • adds +5 to any current Spell Resistance you have
  • allows you to climb at 20'
  • adds +3 to Concentration...!
Steps to Create:
A) From the CONTROL worksheet, click on the "Items" button to activate (i.e. turn ON) the ItemData worksheet.
B) In the ItemData worksheet Quick links, click on the blue Wond. Items: This jumps to the Wondrous Items table
C) From the Top of the Wondrous Items, click on the Click HERE to add custom Wondrous Items link. This gets us to the bottom of the table, where we will add the Hat.
D) Enter the name of the item to be created (in cell AC344): type "Hat of the Sorcerer"
E) Optional: Enter the misc information (cost, weight, description)

Now for the 'effect' part of the Hat - just enter the text in green this in the appropriate column (in bold)
Permanent Effect: Yes

Effect #1 Name: Arcane Caster Level (All Aspects)
Effect #1 Type: Unnamed
Effect #1 Modifier: 1
Note: this first effect will give a caster level to the Arcane class. This is done automatically; Should the Character be multiclass with two Arcane Class, the Sheet would ask the user to select WHICH class would gain this bonus!

Effect #2 Name: CHA
Effect #2 Type: Enhancement
Effect #2 Modifier: 2
Note: this effect adds 2 to the current Charisma ability score. Since this is defined as an Enhancement bonus, it would NOT stack with spells like Eagle's Splendor! The Sheet will handle the stacking automatically.

Effect #3 Name: Spell Resistance (Ex)
Effect #3 Type: Unnamed
Effect #3 Modifier: 5
Note: This Spell Resistance is designed to stack (unnamed type) with any other SR already gained.

Effect #4 Name: Climb Speed
Effect #4 Type: Max Value
Effect #4 Modifier: 20
Note: the Max Value type here indicates that this value should NOT be added to any other climb speed granted (either from a spell, or a race)

Effect #5 Name: Concentration
Effect #5 Type: Unnamed
Effect #5 Modifier: 3
Note: This adds the 3 to the Concentration skill

And Voila! One heck of a nice magical Hat!!!
