Lola will pack her bag back up (not sure whose CLW potion was used), make sure her crossbow is ready and then sit against the wall waiting for all the scouting to be complete and seeing where we will go next.

Cyrius stands guard outside what Marcus suggests might be the chieftain's chamber. He advises Tex and Marcus to drink some healing potions.

Tex drinks one of Lola's potions [healed 3 hp], then takes some of Worrel's arrows.

After finding no evil in either room and handing his arrows to Tex, Worrel also stands guard.

Marcus drinks one of Prost's potions [healed 8 hp], then peers into the chieftain's chamber, suggesting the bedding be investigated.

Lola readies her crossbow and waits for the search to be completed.

Prost sifts through the moldering furs and bedrolls to the northeast, but finds nothing of value. Since he finds nothing there, he uses his remaining search checks to examine the chieftain's chamber, with its collection of skulls and great pile of furs and blankets. Sure enough, mingled amidst the bedding, he finds 4 rubies, 150 gp in coins kept within a leather pouch, a jeweled statuette of an elvish warrior, and a haversack that seems much too finely made for these beastly creatures.

The only path that remains now is to the southwest, where a tunnel curves downward into the rock...

Marcus claims the haversack, which proves to be very Handy. The rest of the valuables get stuffed into party loot in various haversacks.

Marcus shoots an unseen servant out of his wand, and the party begins to descend the curving corridor. This long passage through the rocks winds down and down, deeper into the ground. It curves ahead like a spiral. The air grows musty and sickening with the scent of rotting flesh.

The party has gone 40 or 50 feet down the corridor when Marcus feels a tap on his shoulder...

Worrel settles his shield on his arm and ensures a good grip on his sword while he waits for news of what is ahead.

Lola heals Worrel [9 hp] and Tex [3 hp] with the wand.

While the rest of the party readies for action, Prost creeps down the corridor to the edge of the light. He discovers that he does not need his darkvision to see much farther, since, somewhere ahead, the dim glow of a lantern or
small fire casts a dull, red glow. He cannot see the source of the light but he can see that the passage opens into a cavern. Just beyond the end of the passage is the top of a short cliff that stands ten feet above the cave floor below. Although Prost cannot see any creatures in the cavern, he can hear someone or something in there, moving about quietly.

Prost signals the others to come forward quietly, and to leave the light behind. He then moves quietly into the darkness to 0929 and watches till the others arrive.
