Ability to create custom content: | PRO: Yes; Almost anything can be customized: Ancestries, Animals, Classes, Deities, Feats, Runes, Shields, Spells, Weapons. The same can be said about class features. You can create custom: Alchemist Research Fields, Barbarian Instincts, Bard Muses, Champion Causes, Divine Allies and Tenets, Cleric Doctrine, Divine Domains, Draconic Exemplars, Dragon Disiple Dragon Types, Druidic Orders, Emotional States, Gunslinger Ways, Hellknight Orders, Investigator Methodologies, Magus Hybrid Studies, Oracle Mysteries, Rogue Rackets, Sorcerer Bloodlines, Swashbuckler’s Styles, Witch Lessons and Patrons, Wizard Arcane Schools and Arcane Thesis, etc. CORE: No customization in CORE | From the developer (source): “Pathbuilder 2e probably won’t ever support custom classes or feats. The problem is that they could be anything, eg: you get 2 hp for every ancestry feat you have; or your perception gets a bonus of a quarter of your level. I just can’t design an interface for “anything”. Not only that but the complexity of custom classes and feats in 2e and the constraints of a mobile screen would make the interface horrendous. There is support for feat choices, skills and custom equipment in the app, with a fairly standard set of choices for bonuses to proficiencies etc, but beyond that there is no support for custom classes or 3rd party. It really is outside the scope of the app.” |
Dynamic Play: | Yes. Using the Dashboard allows the user to apply effects on the fly. For example, you can select the Animal Form spell and select an Ape. The dashboard will be upated with all the information about your new form automatically. You can even apply spells like Inspire Courage, and your Battle Form will be updated with these effects. Check this video to see exactly how that works. | No dashboard The user needs to manually create buff to simulate the required bonuses |
Automated Evaluations: | The very high level of automation granted by the use of Excel allows for a full implementation of the stacking rules. Descriptions are evaluated on the fly so you do not need to do the math yourself. For example, the description of Cantrip automatically change as per the level of the character and are automatically heightened. A cantrip like Disrupt Undead will not simply use a Copy & Paste of the description, but will instead actually tell you the exact damage you need to roll. This is true for practically everything in the Sheet. | Limited, using highlights |
PFS Support: | PRO: Yes, full support, including the ability to apply Slotted Boons and automated Level Bump. See the Pathfinder Society: Automation and Support video for example of use CORE: No | Some options available |
