Data from Experts 3.5?
Data from Experts 3.5?
Has anyone taken the time to build datafiles for the classes listed in the book Experts 3.5 from Skirmisher Publishing? This book is invaluable for creating "everyone else" that populates your game world and I can't be the only person who makes regular use of it. Has anyone made the effort to add it to TOS+?

I actually have this book, but have never bothered to use it for anything, much less TOS+ it. I honestly found it disappointing in usefulness.

Really? Was it lacking in data. I just bought the PDF. Did I just waste $13?patransom wrote:I actually have this book, but have never bothered to use it for anything, much less TOS+ it. I honestly found it disappointing in usefulness.

No. Lots of stuff in there. I just found it focused on detailed stats for NPCs that I usually don't need detailed stats for.

See, I'm just the opposite. I like including NPCs like that as hirelings, so it's nice to have material for them. Plus, if your PCs are inclined to take crafting skills (which mine are), this gives some very solid rules to utilize.

I promise nothing right away. I do have other, higher priorities, but I will give this a read over and throw a few together, in 3.5 and Pathfinder. Do you have any particular requests?
Re: Data from Experts 3.5?
Nothing specific, thanks. I'll assist in any small way that I can (I'm far from a coding expert), I was just wondering if someone had already done it and saved me some work.

You don't need to be a coding expert to make classes/races... even a basic understanding of excel will get you far!! The "Monkey see, Monkey do" approach works fine for almost everything!!whtknt wrote: (I'm far from a coding expert)

Very true. I learned a lot about how the Sheet works by looking at how others' made custom classes, feats, etc. With that knowledge, I was able to work on most of the spells and several classes. You'd be surprised at how much you'll be able to do with a very basic understanding.admin wrote:You don't need to be a coding expert to make classes/races... even a basic understanding of excel will get you far!!
