Round 1 Continues

Marcus climbs back up the wall, making it all the way to the top of the cliff.

Concerned that the grimlocks are calling for reinforcements, Cyrius steps forward and prepares to meet any attack.

With the sudden appearance of the grimlocks, Prost ducks down hoping that they can't "spot" him as he moves quietly to his right, taking what cover is available, and fires on grimlock archer 1. Unfortunately for Prost, the grimlocks do not seem to loose track of him. Unsurprised by Prost's new location, the grimlock archer easily dodges the halfling's crossbow bolt. [For the record, Prost is now close enough that the grimlocks can track him by smell, as well as hearing, so stealth isn't helping him.]

Tex mumbles something incomprehensible, as he struggles against the goo. Even using all his strength, he is not able to break free.

Sharing Cyrius' concern, Worrel moves to put himself ahead of Lola and next to Cyrius, closer to the passage way. He completes the switch to using his sword and shield as he does so.

Dropping the sunrod for now, Lola loads her crossbow, aiming down the tunnel in case anything comes up from there. She also tries to gain cover from the things above amongst the stalagmites. She doesn't think the rocks here are going to provide much cover, though. It seems the only place safe from the grimlock's bows would be directly under the ledge, like Cyrius and Worrel have positioned themselves.

Round 2 Begins

Grimlock archer 1 fires two arrows at goo-covered Tex. Rather amazingly, he misses both times.

Grimlock archer 2 flings a tanglefoot bag up at Marcus, hoping to prevent the sorcerer's escape. Like Tex, Marcus now finds himself covered in goo [See tanglefoot bag: –2 on attack rolls and a –4 to Dexterity, needs a DC15 Reflex save or will be glued to the floor, unable to move]
ACTIVE EFFECTS
Those on the floor of the cavern can shoot at the grimlocks on the ledge, but the grimlocks have cover (+4 AC). They do not have cover against Prost and Marcus up above.

Round 2 Continues
Marcus Tilsworth: empty handed, 24 bolts left + 1 MW bolt, 7 hp damage, tanglefoot bag (–2 on attack rolls and a –4 to Dexterity, needs a DC15 Reflex save to avoid being glued to the floor, unable to move) 6 rnds left
Cyrius of the Sudden Blade: mind blade and buckler readied, uninjured
Evan Prost: loaded crossbow readied, 19 bolts left, darkvision 172.1 min, 1 hp damage,
Texudus TreeBender: climbing, 13 arrows left, 33 hp damage, tanglefoot bag (–2 on attack rolls and a –4 to Dexterity, glued to the wall, unable to move) 5 rnds left
Worrel: sword and shield readied, uninjured
Lola: loaded crossbow readied, sunrod dropped at 616, 34 bolts left, 1 hp damage

Round 2 Continues

Marcus manages to avoid being stuck to the floor, although he's still covered in goo. Instead of his crossbow, he raises his free hand and unleashes an electrical ray. Unfortunately, the sticky gunk all over him throws off his aim. The ray misses. [So, yes, the save was just to avoid being stuck. The penalties still apply and, as a result, your touch attack just missed.]

Belatedly realizing that an attack from the tunnel would roll over him, Cyrius sidesteps to the east, still peering into the gloomy opening. Worrel, do you think one of us should go help the others? he asks the elven paladin.

Prost reloads his crossbow and fires at Grimlock Archer 1 from what cover he has. This time, his aim is true, although the result is only a flesh wound.

Tex again struggles against the goo, but gets nowhere.

On it, replies Worrell to Cyrius. But i may not be able to fire right away. He sheathes his sword and moves his shield out of the way. He then moves towards the north, to the bottom of the cliff face. As he does, he draws his bow so that he could fire upon the grimlocks or any attackers coming from the tunnel.

Lola, seeing her friends in trouble, shoots at one of the grimlocks on the ledge. She misses. [Technically, cover gives the Grimlocks +4 AC; it doesn't make you take -4 to your attack. Six of one, half dozen of the other, I know, but it might become an issue if I didn't know that's why you took a -4.]

Round 3 Begins

Grimlock archer 1 continues firing at goo-covered Tex. Again, and rather amazingly, he misses with both shots.

Grimlock archer 2 again flings a tanglefoot bag, this time at Prost. Unsurprisingly, Prost now finds himself covered in goo [See tanglefoot bag: –2 on attack rolls and a –4 to Dexterity, needs a DC15 Reflex save or will be glued to the floor, unable to move]

Lola sees no real chance to hit the ones on the ledge does something a bit desperate and casts Fog Cloud to help conceal those trapped by the tangle foot bags. The cloud will appear 5' below Tex.

[ooc]Fog Cloud: A bank of fog billows out from the point you designate. The fog obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature within 5 feet has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker can't use sight to locate the target).

A moderate wind (11+ mph) disperses the fog in 4 rounds; a strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the fog in 1 round.

Round 3 Continues

Marcus fires another lightning ray at one of the Grimlocks. Hampered by the goo from the tanglefoot bag, he misses again.

Cyrius stays at his self-assigned post, ready to fend off any menace from the tunnel.

As quietly as possible, Prost moves back from the edge of the cliff. [Prost and the Grimlocks no longer have line of sight or effect to each other]

Tex continues to struggle against the goo.

Worrell pulls an arrow from his quiver and carefully draws his bow back, sighting on the first grimlock archer. In spite of his best hope, the arrow misses.

Lola casts Bless. The radius covers all allies except Prost, who's moved too far away.

Round 4 Begins

Grimlock archer 1 continues firing at goo-covered Tex. This time, he manages to hit with one of two arrows [9 hp damage]

Grimlock archer 2 shoots two arrows at Marcus. He hits twice and Marcus falls down and starts to bleed to death [20 hp damage total]
ACTIVE EFFECTS
Those on the floor of the cavern can shoot at the grimlocks on the ledge, but the grimlocks have cover (+4 AC). They do not have cover against Marcus up above. Prost and the Grimlocks do not have line of effect at all.

Bless: +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects for all PCs except Prost, 40 rounds left

Round 4 Continues
Marcus Tilsworth: empty handed, 5 elemental rays left, 24 bolts left + 1 MW bolt, 27 hp damage puts him at -5 and bleeding, tanglefoot bag (–2 on attack rolls and a –4 to Dexterity, but still able to move at half speed) 4 rnds left
Cyrius of the Sudden Blade: mind blade and buckler readied, uninjured
