PROBLEM WITH NEW POSTS

Seems the latest version of the dice mod is causing a big problem - basically, for Forums where the dice is not specifically allowed, posting a new topic leaves it EMPTY of anything you posted!!
I'll wait a few days to see if a fix is forthcoming, else I'll have to manually allow dice on the 100+ Forum sections ... (yuck!)

To know if a post will go through, I suggest you post just a couple of words, then Submit. Check your message and see if it is empty - if so, they you are in an area of 'blackness' :(

Evidently, all the PbP Forums are unaffected by this as they already had all their Dice permissions turned on!

Very sorry for this.

Can't you just designate a notice in the forums where the dice roller is not allowed to not use the roller there? I mean what's the purpose of rolling dice in the ask the wizards threads or the adventure threads or any other threads that are not PbP?

That amounts to writing 100+ messages...
I had already tried the 'global' message, but that too is affected...

I'm working on solving this ASAP...

Well, I tried waving my wand, but it seems to be out of charges. Sorry. Are you working with the author of this dice roller or trying to hack it on your own?

I implemented a 'fix' to try to solve this problem - let me know (in this thread) if you encounter any issues with the forum
Thank you for your patience!

hm... I'm wondering if I should have put this post in this thread in stead of making a new one.

Okay, so there's been no comment to my post directly above, or to the post I linked to, so...

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.png" alt=":)" title="Smile" />[/ooc:u4o' at line 1 [1064]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
I've gotten this error a few times now when submitting a post. When I backspace and preview I see the post I was trying to submit has been processed and posted, but this is the third time now, all of which in the past two days I think.
I'm still getting this on occasion and it has something to do with the smiles path because that's all it seems to remark to every time. Am I just the only person noticing this? This seems to have begun the day you added that tapatalk thing.

It's caused by the Dice mod v0.8.4
There is a guy looking for the cause of this (as he has this issue as well on his Forum and knows how to debug php code) - I'm waiting on him to find the Cure.

The "smiley hiccup" is still happening, although (in my case, at least) the smiley is there when I go back to the message.

That's the same for me. I just get the error message, but when viewing the post, the smilie is there. But I've also gotten this a time or two without having a smilie in my post.

Adding smileys in messages should not cause any problems...!

The error message. I haven't seen that for some time now. So I guess whatever was corrected, was the correct correction. :thumb1:
