Introduction
Created by user marc4darkskies, the TOSFive Dice Roller (referred as TDRFive) is an Excel macro driven workbook developed for TOSFive.
Primary Goals of TDRFive
- Enable hassle free digital dice rolling for more streamlined dynamic play. The need to find, roll and add up physical dice for attack, damage, ability, skills and save rolls (among others) is eliminated. Damaging spells and other rolled spell effects can also be defined or selected from a TOS+ sheet so that they can be automatically rolled.
- Free DMs from using manual notes during an encounter Creature / character initiatives, combat order and damage received can be tracked and combat attacks for up to 150 creatures’ or other ad-hoc effects can be automatically be rolled.
For Players
TDRFive will interface automatically with TDRFive sheets to facilitate attack, damage, ability, skills and save rolls (among others). Damaging spell effects within the players sheets can also be defined or selected so that they can be automatically rolled.
For DMs
Creature / character initiatives and dice rolls for up to 150 NPCs and creatures’ weapon attacks or other effects can be tracked. The DM can create new creatures / NPCs or select creatures from the built-in creature database (so far about 320 creatures and growing). Creatures can be created, edited, or deleted and utilised for combat dice rolls and their full stat blocks are viewable.
Main Features
1) All combat sheet d20 rolls have 3 options. Normal, Advantage and Disadvantage
2) The ad-hoc sheet, by necessity, is more complex to cater for how 5e handles saves, and abilities
3) The creature editing facility on the ad-hoc sheet now requires two popups
4) Ad-hoc sheet entries for creatures, NPCs and other attacks can be individually specified as having a sneak attack that can be utilized via the combat sheet
5) For those playing with "crunchy crits", the option is there on the combat sheet to invoke them
6) Ad-hoc sneak attacks can be toggled on and off in the combat sheet and only those creatures/NPCs selected and nominated in the ad-hoc sheet as having a sneak attack will be appropriately calculated
7) Double Damage rolls now require 2 rolls. One for normal followed by a second for double
8) The dice sheet that was present in the TOS+ version was made redundant and is gone
9) Individual ad-hoc creatures/NPCs can be enabled for sneak attacks and those sneak attacks can be invoked via the combat sheet
10) Crunchy Crits can be enabled on the Combat sheet (subject to local game rules)
11) The History sheet contains a comprehensive history of the last 40 dice rolls done via the "Combat" sheet
