Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
[talk]Well, Ahmon-Ibor is another name for Demogorgon. Often in prayers, or the like. And since that seems to be the older writing, this place probably used to be a temple devoted to demon-worship.[/talk] Filge has slipped into a rather pedantic tone as if lecturing a group of apprentices.
[talk]That symbol, though, belongs to Inanna. Not a demon but a goddess. Evil, too, as well. I could tell you a lot more, if you like.[/talk] Filge glances to see if any of his companions are interested. [talk]Which presents the interesting question of why cultists of Inanna are within an ancient temple that formerly belonged to Demogorgon.[/talk]
Once Prost speaks up, Filges shrugs. [talk]I don't know anything about the "Triad of Sixes". Although Inanna is supposed to have six arms. And all of this is rather confusing since neither of these groups have anything to do with Spawn of Yog, the worm-driven zombies that we're hunting.[/talk]

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Prost looks up, upon hearing Filges comments… [talk]Like it or not, as the evidence shows, "The Triad of Sixes" is real, and seems to be a more recent addition to neighborhood and I think we are going half to deal with them.[/talk] Prost then returns his attention to the lock he has been working on.

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
On his second attempt, Prost succeeds in picking the fiendishly clever lock on the trapdoor. Opening it, he sees a narrow, rough-hewn passage descending into the rock. The crude passage into the floor is not particularly steep and even seems to have rough steps carved into it, but it continues down beyond the range of Prost's darkvision.

[talk]Could be this place was built by one cult, then occupied and re-decorated by others over the years,[/talk] Cyrius opines. [talk]We really can't be sure who's in residence now, except I kind of doubt they're benevolent. As for our next move, I'm voting for the trap door, since we're not being attacked from that direction, and if Prost locks it behind us we may delay pursuit. Of course,[/talk] he admits, [talk]it's possible that the lock's there to keep something in rather than keep people out, but if that were so I'd expect guards to keep watch.[/talk]

[talk]No doubt whoever is occupying this crypt knows we are here and is making preparation for our welcome. I would recommend we make haste with our departure before the Fog is gone.[/talk] Prost comments further [talk]If we commit to going thru the trap door now, we might be able to make it look like we couldn't open it with a bit of trickery by locking it on this side with a bit of string.[/talk].....[talk]They might think we have left for the surface. Prost moves to 1216, [talk]Lola, I want to use your fog for cover to scout ahead to its edges and want to come back before it disappears. How much time do I have?[/talk] Prost waits for any advice from Lola before sneaking into the fog.

Lola lets everyone know how long the fog should last (a little over 30 minutes I believe). She then gets ready to follow the party which ever direction they go with sword ready.

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Filge keeps his skeletons where they were, waiting for Prost and the others to report back. As for himself, he moves up to the edge of the fog with the others and prepares to move forward.

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
After some discussion, the party agrees to make their way through the fog. Prost relocks the trap door and pushes past the skeletons to take the lead in the fog. The rest of the party forms up at the edge of the fog. No one perceives anything threatening in the limited view afforded by the fog.

Sorry for the delay. I have moved everyone up to the edge of the fog. Although you can't see through it, at least some of you recall there were three options for where to go from the room the fog covers: east, west, and north (in pursuit of the tiefling). |

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Tex grumbles something unintelligible and moves to 1410. if he can see beyond the fog from there, he waits, otherwise he'll continue to the next spot, 1510. his bow is ready to shoot.
Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Prost thinking to himself as the noisy dwarf blunders into the fog
THINKING: Well there goes any chance of surprising anyone.
Not seeing any opportunities to surprise anyone to the east Prost moves quietly north to 1109 to setup a ambush position should anyone come south.

Lola wishes that someone would have said NOT to cast the fog before she did it since she said she was going to do it and no one said anything (stupid men) then and now all are grumbling. She is also concerned as one party member appeared to go east and one appeared to go north. She then touches Cryus with a CMW (giving up Bull's Str) and follows him.

Marcus will keep near Cyrius while advancing through, THINKING: The fog was a good idea if we stuck to the initial plan. Just didn't think she couldn't dismiss it once it wasn't needed. Can't believe I'd forget about something like that. Marcus take the staff out intent on trying it out.

[ooc]Just for the record, Cyrius was not carpping about the fog at any time. He is familiar with the 'fog of war' (no pun intended) which can have allies inadvertently working at cross purposes. It seemed a good idea at the time to Lola, but is now an obstacle; deal with it.[/ooc]

The party moves further into the fog. Lola heals Cyrius.
From the east edge of the fog, Tex can see down a short hallway, through an open door, and into a small room. This chamber holds two beds against the north wall, a long, wooden table along the east wall, two stools, and a weapons rack along the south wall. A suit of leather armor lies on the table with a variety of tools spread out around it.
No one else sees or hears much of anything.
