Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Prost makes a thorough search of the new room. He finds no traps or other surprises, but hidden in one of the beds is a small velvet bag containing 20 platinum pieces and a small golden necklace.
Tex moves to keep an eye on the other hallway. From the edge of the fog, he can see that the doors to the west have been thrown open. Doors to the east and north remain closed.
Filge orders his skeletons to guard the other door while the rest of the party takes up defensive positions in the middle of the room.

Cyrius will advance to 1005 and look down the west (assuming north is at the top) corridor.

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Marcus keeps in stride with Cyrius, the quarterstaff in hand.
Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Cyrius advances north and looks down the west corridor. The rest of the party follows. Prost finds no traps on the way.
The doors to the west corridor have been thrown open, but they were apparently once secured with a chain and crude padlock, which now lie on the floor of the main hallway. The musky smell of a large creature kept in a small area emanates from the west. The room at the end of the west corridor is lit by a single stone spike flickering with magical flame. Filthy hay, mixed with a generous amount of animal dung, covers the floor of this crude chamber. A long metal chain is attached to the south wall, but its other end is unhooked and loose upon the floor.

Once again, due to poor planning on my part, the grid numbers have changed. It won't be the last time. It should be rather obvious that the giant boar you just killed was freed from this chamber and sent after you. Ignore the big grey blob at 0206-0306. It shows where the boar used to be chained up. |

[talk]Let's check what's behind the door Filge left the skeletons guarding. I really don't like leaving unopened doors behind me. This room seems to be the boar's den and of no interest, unless you REALLY think we should explore this room and chance trapping ourselves.[/talk] Aside from Marcus looking ask though he's rather avoid the muck, his tone is quite sincere.
Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Prost politely reminds Marcus... [talk]That would be two doors, and as you, I also don't like leaving unopened doors behind me.[/talk]

Filge waits for the group to re-organize themselves. If they are going back to the door that his skeletons are guarding, he will command the skeletons to move and guard the hallway to the north.

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
After a brief discussion, the party moves back to check the door to the west of the "fog room." Prost finds no traps and hears no danger, so he opens the door. In the room beyond, blankets cover the floor, surrounding a wooden crate atop which
stands a small, crude statue of a six-armed humanoid female. A few battered weapons (spears, clubs, and hand axes) lean against the far wall. Stone pegs carved into the wall light this area with flickering, bright flames. The room has a strong musky smell, like a bordello without the perfume.

[talk]Prost, you care to give the room a search for anything? If not, then at least we know this room to be no concern. We can move on.We know they're waiting for us to come to them. It would have been nice to bring explosives so we could just bring the place down.[/talk]
Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Feeling just a wee bit exposed, Cyrius falls back to 1106, still keeping an an eye on the "northern" doors (both the double at the end and the one on the "east" wall.)

Re: [Active Thread] Beneath Dourstone Mine
Most of the party takes up defensive positions in the north hall while Prost searches the chamber full of blankets. In addition to the soiled blankets and battered (obviously mundane) weapons, his search reveals a loose flagstone beneath the wooden crate. In the space hidden by the flagstone is a golden holy symbol (the same one you've seen before with the triangles and six axes) and the broken blade of an intricately engraved silver dagger.
