Prost upon seeing the two humans, motions for them to set down and puts his fingers to his lips signaling them to be quiet and gives them a wink with a thumb up. Turning to Tex, he signals two more, before quietly stepping forward to 1016 peering into the cell to his right.

Tex quietly follows Prost into the room of cells. Looking at the passed out man (G), he observes that the man's clothes are very dirty and he exudes a bit of a smell. He looks a bit scrawny, but there are no obvious signs of injury.

Prost upon seeing the two humans (M and R), motions for them to set down and puts his fingers to his lips signaling them to be quiet and gives them a wink with a thumb up. Turning to Tex, he signals two more, before quietly stepping forward to peer into the cell to his right. The cell to his right is empty, but he also has a vantage point into the cell to the left. At the far end of that cell, an imperious looking elvish woman (I) sits on a cot. She glares at Prost as he peers into her cell, but doesn't say anything.

Lola and Ardrea move into the room with the chests.

Prost racks his brain in an attempt to discern, her station by her dress, or who she might be.

Then he quietly moves up next to Prost and takes a look at the two men in the cell. Criminals? Fighters? Merchants? Tradesmen?

Cyrius moves down the stairs.

“Elen síla lúmenn’ omentielvo.” Prost tries an elvish greeting in a diplomatic attempt to ease their initial meeting. Prost no sooner lets the words pass his lips, realizes he has botched the attempted elvish greeting. Switching to Ghinoran, he says “My apologies for my poor attempt in Elvish to greet you, but what has brought you to this poor station.”

The woman glares at Prost and replies, “Leave me alone, trickster.” Prost notes that her clothes are a bit dirty, but obviously of high quality. He does not recognize her, but while racking his brain on the general topic of high quality attire, he suddenly recalls something about the stylized star he saw on some of the items in the other room. He saw it on one of the buildings when the party passed through the Guildsmen’s Terrace (B on the map here) and also on one of the mansions in the Garden District (D) on the way to Eligos' house.

Upon hearing Prost, Tex looks back to the others, signs for quiet, and waves them in. Then he quietly moves up next to Prost and takes a look at the two men in the cell. Although they look very tired, they are muscular and generally fit. Possibly soldiers, laborers, or from some sort of physical trade.

Ardrea moves into the room at Tex's signal. She stays 10' from Tex, ready to provide magical support should it be needed. She quietly uses her Hex: Ward on Prost.

Lola moves at the signal to come in. Fluffy follows her.

Prost leans in to the elvish woman, “Well lucky for you I’m the best trickster you have ever met. ” then leans away to Tex, whispering, but not so soft that the elvish woman can’t hear. 'Perhaps we should report to Master Eligos, we haven’t found her yet. Prost winks to Tex, and as best he can, rolls his eyes in the direction of the elvish woman. THINKING: The ring, and cloak in the chest has got to be hers, I bet she knows Master Eligos…

Prost leans in to the elvish woman, “Well lucky for you I’m the best trickster you have ever met.” then leans away to Tex, whispering, but not so soft that the elvish woman can’t hear. Perhaps we should report to Master Eligos, we haven’t found her yet. Prost winks to Tex, and as best he can, rolls his eyes in the direction of the elvish woman.

The elvish woman sneers angrily at Prost and rolls her eyes, but says nothing. However, Prost cannot help but notice a glimmer of recognition on her face when he mentions Eligos.

Tex just gives the woman a 10,000 foot stare, Elves..., and shrugs.

Lola moves to 1117, leans over closer to the bars of the cell containing M and R, puts a finger to her lip in the normal "quiet" symbol, and whispers We can help get you all out of here once we clear it all out so its safe.. can you please quietly tell me what you have seen? number of guards? anything maybe weird?

She is ready that if they move closer to her, she will lean back/move away out of grab range, but not in an aggressive way.

She gets a +1 if they could be attracted to her. [not sure why image from the link seems kinda cut off]

Prost turns his head to the party members in the back “Hey could someone bring that cloak, and signet ring from the chests up here” ...Prost upon receiving the items would turn and speak, “Perhaps we could come to some mutually beneficial agreement. ” Prost offers up her things “We set you free, you aid us”

The closer man (M) answers in a whisper, We're with the city watch, ma'am. We can surely be of help in making this place safe if you let us out now. Guards, it's hard to say, they come and go in groups, but it's never the same people twice. I'm sure that counts as weird. The second man (R) chimes in, Not only that, everything is weird here. The guards sometimes tease us by speaking without talking, if you know what I mean. And they know things about us they have no way of knowing. And the dreams. The dreams are torture... Please... let us out.

Noticing the elf's reaction to Master Eligos name. Prost runs back to the chests, retrieves what he believes to be the elf’s cloak and signal ring. Looking to the others in his party, so we set them free then right? Prost doesn’t even wait for an answer. He hands the cloak and signet ring, to the elf woman I think these are yours, and starts to examine the locks on the cells.

Lola says “Prost - Please wait a second on that unlock. Here me out for a min.... We do need to set them free BUT if they go home now without us, or back to guard post - whatever - if they bump into whoever is impersonating them like the person who impersonated me - these folks may just plain get murdered, perhaps those around them at the time as well. That guy who impersonated me was a fighter with some skill when he was cornered. Perhaps the wise move is we would accompany each of them back to their home/work - and if we are there then we can protect them and also maybe catch their double in the act...”

“To me, we need to decide to either: escort them each back now and explore the rest of this place later - or clear the place first then escort them back safely... I can see pros/cons in either of those approaches - what do you all think?”

“Don't see us going back now,” Tex says.“That don't mean we can't let em out.”

“But Lola, you are correct about what is likely to befall them should they return. I think that we should continue here ... we would have to confront the imposters one by one. And that permits the others to learn what is happening and escape by impersonating someone else, coming back here to warn their allies or companions. If we first learn what is happening, the escape of the imposters will be less important.”

Prost holds his action…So the jailers are likely on the other side of this door……nodding to the door to the north
What now then? Prost waits for party decision.

Prost runs back to the chests, retrieves what he believes to be the elf’s cloak and signal ring. He hands the cloak and signet ring to the elf woman I think these are yours.

The elf woman moves cautiously to the front of the cell, grabs the items from Prost, then rushes to the back, looking suspiciously at the halfling.

Tex listens at the doors. He hears the faintly lapping sounds of water and recalls that the warehouse is right at the edge of the harbor (see map here), but nothing else.

Prost starts to examine the locks on the cells. He thinks they are well within his skills to open, but before he actually opens any of the cells, Lola interjects and the party discusses whether or not to free the prisoners.

As the group works to come to a decision, the first of the men (M) in the cells chimes in, addressing Lola and Worell specifically, 'Scuse me, milady and noble elf lord, if the concern is that me and Regim is gonna run off into trouble, we can promise that ain't gonna happen. Let us out and we'll stick with you mighty folk and help you clear the place first.

Regim (R) nods agreement, Yeah, Martal's right, we can help. Plus, I wanna get revenge on the tricksy scum what put us in here!
