Welcome to the Brave New World
You awake in total darkness, flat on your back, as if from a deep sleep. All is quiet except for a distant rumbling, which is what you suspect awakened you. You all feel remarkably well rested and uninjured, except that those of you who prepare spells (Oldin and Phatem) or must ready your spell slots (Aeless), have no spells right now. [This doesn't feel permanent. You can still "feel" magic in the world; it feels like you just haven't gone through your preparation process after a rest]
As you are sitting up, trying to get your bearings in the dark, the rumbling increases to the point where it sounds like a great stone wall shattering nearby. Suddenly there is a burst of light from the left that illuminates the entire area.
You find yourself in what appears to be the same cavern, except that the floor (and you) are covered in dust. The obelisk, the stairs, and the wall separating the two parts are gone. The Prelate is there in front of you, also just sitting up, and so is Amon. The boy is no longer bound, appears uninjured, and, like the rest of you, he is sitting up to locate the source of the light and noise.
The source is some sort of huge creature that appears to have burst through the east wall. It's like a cross between a wagon and a giant spider, made all of metal. It has bright lights atop it. It moves slowly forward toward Amon and the Prelate on wheels, like a wagon, except that the wheels are bound together by some sort of flexible metallic band. Its spiderlike arms rip and tear at the walls beside it, except for one which it extends in front of it. This arm is held forward, pointed at the floor, waving back and forth. From the end of this arm bursts a flash of fire, which, when it hits the stone floor, fuses it into a much smoother, almost glassy surface.
It appears that Amon and the Prelate, if they do not get up and out of the way, will be run over by the wagon-spider or burnt by the fire from its arm …
Although you can't see them yet, two men are behind the creature, following it down the tunnel it's made (welcome, Thanis and Shareev).
[The creature is the red square on the map. The dotted lines show the reach of its many arms. Remember that you are just sitting up, so your first move action, if you wish, might be to stand up]

And here's what the creature looks like!
Also, an important note: no validation on Tuesday, as I'll be out of town. The next validation will be next Friday.

Tumble up to stand then run towards Amon, and help him stand. If possible continue on towards 1334 with Amon.
"Amon, come stand we must get out of the way of that machine."
Tumble: +10

OOC: Great Godfrey, I think we've fallen into a Space: 1889 campaign!
IC: Esias () gets to his feet and readies his bow again, rather wishing he knew Viridian so he could call Amon to safety.

"You heard him boy! Up and move, but beware that man of Seker, I don't entirely trust him. Still you're free and as unharmed as I've promised." Phatem helps the boy to his feet even as he reaches his own feet, then gives the boy a shove towards the others.
"You'll all pardon me if I don't rush to your sides as well. Since you equate deception with evil - as if the good never deceive - and believe all to readily in the evil rumors you've all heard. I'm sure someone will try to blame me for this... but whatever that orb of yours was - it's moved us away from the demon and the world in which we were.... It's trapped in the obelisk - on the other world.... And we're here. Where ever here is. And I've healed the boy as I've said - though it took the last of my magics to do so - and both protect and heal the rest of us even as we came to be here...." Phatem moves to put the obelisk between him and the "creature" even as he continues.... "So it's not exactly like I had much reason to save my spells. Our past argument is moot - but I do ask this - open your mind to the possibility that deception is not necassarily evil - but a misnomer in which we look at all perspectives and allow the imagination to run free - trickery is often done for humor or good as it is for evil - and those that worship lies include those that seek to uncover the truth as often as it does those that seek to create falsehood.
Finally - I leave you with this final thought - the easier answer is not always the right one. In fact it very often is far from it. Beware those that would take you down the easier road. The boy is safe and in your care - until I figure a way to return us to our world, do try to keep him alive."
With that Phatem takes a long step - and vanishes......

Aeless gets to his knees, readying his bow.
Thanis creeps silently down the corridor.
Esias gets to his feet and readies his bow.
Vulan leaps to his feet and runs forward, leaving his sword behind.
Leenah tumbles up to her feet and also runs in Amon's direction.
Phatem, while making yet another speech, grasps Amon's shoulder and pulls him to his feet, simultaneously pushing him northward toward the party. Then, though still kneeling, the Prelate disappears.
Oldin stands and moves slowly forward.
The spider-wagon rolls forward with suprising speed toward Amon, it's firey arm still scouring the floor in front of it. Then, just as the fire is about to reach the still-stunned boy, the construct stops. Others of its arms swing forward in a threatening manner toward the boy.
Ruadhnait gets to her feet, readying her spear.
Amon seems torn between the obvious threat and Leenah's calls. Unable to head directly toward Leenah, he runs diagonally in a direction that doesn't seem entirely safe, but at least puts some distance between him and the arms.
You hear Shareev shout something as he moves down the hall.
Jiam and Brand remain sitting, perhaps stunned by what they are seeing.

Esias moves to 1318 with his bow aimed at the what-is-it, ready to shoot if it makes an overtly hostile move.
