[PbP] Veil of Ignorance looking for players
[PbP] Veil of Ignorance looking for players
The Veil of Ignorance play-by-post game is restarting (because I killed the whole party) and looking for two to six new players to join a new campaign.
The unique shtick to this game is in character creation. I call the concept “Veil of Ignorance,” which is a reference to an idea put forward by the philosopher John Rawls. In this case, it means, like in real life, the circumstances of your birth are completely out of your control. Your race, gender, place of birth, and social status – and, for the most part, your ability scores – will all be determined randomly. What you do after that, and what you make of yourself, is entirely up to you. Even the name your parents gave you is not something you control, although in that case, you’re free to call yourself something else or use a nickname.
The restarted game will be an open sandbox type of game. The party will start in a random hex in the Wilderlands and it will be up to them decide what to do from there. There are plenty of interesting plots and adventures to stumble upon in the Wilderlands, but the DM is not going to "force" you into any of them. For example, if you want to help the villagers with their hill giant problem, fine. If you would rather not, also fine.
More details on the setting and character creation rules can be found here. Post here or PM me if you would like to join the game.

This sounds interesting, so if you are still looking for players I would like to join.

This would be my first dive into a PbP. I would interested in giving it a go.

Re: [PbP] Veil of Ignorance looking for players
As a past player under this "VoI" Concept, I have to say, it does add a great element to the start up of in-game play. Just don't fall below 0 HP as you have to roll percentile to stabilize, which is incredibly hard to do for me at least.
Had RL not gotten so busy for me lately I would seek to rejoin this campaign, but I'm at the point of considering if I need to trim off a few other games I'm playing in. I do recommend this campaign and DM though. Both are good, though I'm better and take great pleasure in patting myself on the back.

I'll have a go. I've been playing pathfinder for years, so I may stumble on the 3.5 rules on occasion. I'll do my best however.

Ah Pat, your games are so fun! After I finish my degree, I totally want in on this. Save me a spot four years from now? Haha.

You got it. I'm sure I'll have killed off two more groups by then and will be restarting for a third timeshai-hulud wrote:Ah Pat, your games are so fun! After I finish my degree, I totally want in on this. Save me a spot four years from now? Haha.
